Facing intense internal pressure, DNC releases postelection autopsy that criticizes Kamala Harris

Facing intense internal pressure, DNC releases postelection autopsy that criticizes Kamala Harris

I read the article but not the 192 page "report" itself. But given that (per the article) the report failed to address the topics listed in this excerpt, below, I think it's safe to assume it didn't go anywhere near the topic of the (alleged) theft of the 2024 presidential election. So, for those hoping that this "election autopsy" would be our "smoking gun" re: the (alleged) theft of the 2024 presidential election (which I believe was stolen, with Musk's and Russia's help) sadly, once again, it seems the Dems have disappointed us. Big surprise.

>Excerpt:
Although the autopsy criticizes Democrats’ focus on “identity politics,” it sidesteps some of the most controversial elements of the 2024 campaign. The report does not address former President Joe Biden’s decision to seek reelection, the rushed selection of Harris to replace him after he dropped out or the party’s acrimonious divide over the war in Gaza.

And for the (lone) person who was attacking AOC's position on Israel in this sub, last week, I included this excerpt:

>Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., said the Gaza omission was “notable.” She also declined to back Martin when asked by The Associated Press whether she supports his leadership.

AOC's answer on running for president leaves political world speechless

To the Mods:

I'm posting this with the understanding that Raw Story articles containing embedded Twitter/X videos can trigger automod removals. The original article included an X video at the bottom, so I pulled the full text and replaced the embedded link with an XCANCEL version to keep it compliant with the sub’s rules.

The full Raw Story text is below, followed by the sanitized XCANCEL link to the video.

If there’s a more efficient way to handle articles that contain X embeds, I’m happy to adjust going forward.

Thank you.

AOC's answer on running for president leaves political world speechless

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has gone from being considered a far-left backbencher when she was first elected in 2018, to one of the Democratic Party's most prominent rising stars — and with that has come swirling questions and rumors about whether she plans to seek higher office.

Former Barack Obama campaign strategist David Axelrod asked her about precisely that during an interview at the University of Chicago Institute of Politics — and she gave an answer that wowed many observers.

"There are a lot of people who would like you to run for president in 2028," said Axelrod. "And there are others who would like you to run for the Senate."

"In this op-ed that Bezos paid for in The Washington Post, there was a veiled threat — it was the elite saying if you want this job, you just stepped out of line," said Ocasio-Cortez. "What’s funny about that is they assume my ambition is positional. They assume my ambition is a title or a seat. My ambition is way bigger than that. My ambition is to change this country. Presidents come and go, elected officials come and go, single payer healthcare is forever."

This answer caused a massive stir among commenters on social media.

"Pope Leo XIV repeatedly states that health care is a universal human right," wrote religion commentator and former Democratic National Committee delegate Christopher Hale.

"Probably the best answer anyone has given to this question ... in a very very long time," wrote former Biden administration press secretary and MS NOW host Jen Psaki.

"Well that’s one of the most compelling answers to that question I’ve ever heard," wrote former Obama speechwriter and podcaster Jon Favreau.

"The reason Republicans are so freaked out by u/AOC is because they know when normie Americans of any party hear her speak like this, they all agree with her," wrote Zeteo News editor-in-chief Mehdi Hasan.

I was very pleased to hear a caller call into the Thom Hartmann Podcast- - which is free. She discusses Smart Elections latest "crowd sourced" efforts and makes a suggestion about how people can volunteer for Smart Elections latest project. The date of the podcast is 5/3/26 and it's title is "DJT Actions Inspire Crimewave of Violence," and it is linked below.

When "Barbara" calls in, she first thanks Thom for discussing the theft, using computers, of the 2004 election involving John Kerry. She then goes on to discuss the efforts of both Smart Elections and Election Truth Alliance. (I just didn't want people to think they had the wrong caller.)

At min. 25:47, Barbara calls in. At min. 27:07, she specifically mentions Smart Elections and Lulu Friesdat. She also mentions Election Truth Alliance and discusses why the work these groups are doing is so important.

Barbara then goes on to discuss the problem posed by CA's "jungle primary"--with more than 50 candidates for CA's governor's race. She reviews Heather Cox Richardson's strategy to avoid ending up with TWO ReThuglican candidates in CA's governor race.

The controls to "scrub" or "fast-forward" to the timestamps given are located at the top of the screen (on my laptop--it may be different on a smartphone).

And you may have to wait at least 5 seconds for the audio to start playing. I don't know why there is a delay, but the first time I tried it there was a brief delay. There is also a brief ad you must listen to or hit "skip" to pass, if you're not fast-forwarding directly to the time stamps. (And I hope the advertising is not different in different markets, which could throw off my timestamps slightly, depending.)

Again, the title of the podcast episode is "DJT Actions Inspire Crimewave of Violence," as is linked, below:

And to increase visibility let's all try to make a brief post thanking Thom Hartmann, Lulu Friesdat, Smart Elections, Election Truth Alliance, Nathan Taylor and his team! And better yet, if you can donate to these groups, please do so! (We've donated more than once to both of them.)

Thank you all.
