What Trump’s July 4 Speech Revealed

Excerpts:

To the extent the decision is up to Trump, the United States that his speech celebrated on July 4 will exist no more.

Trump is building an American future oriented toward authoritarian and corrupt states: Russia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia. Democratic allies are treated, at best, as subjects to be bullied and, at worst, as targets to be carved up into new American territories.

Under Donald Trump, the United States has fought military conflicts in Venezuela and Iran. It nearly fought a war with Denmark to seize Greenland. It often speaks of annexing all or part of Canada. It has waged economic war on allies and partners in violation of international trade agreements and domestic law. Soon the United States may be engaged in a war in Cuba. Already, the U.S. has cut back aid to Ukraine as that country fights for its survival and freedom. Trump has repeatedly made clear that the goal of his wars is plunder: that he wishes to seize oil and other resources. In turn, the course of his most ambitious war, with Iran, appears to have been swayed by client states, which have made payments to him and his associates.

I'm calling it now: Jack Smith is running for president

Just saw his interview on MSNOW. He is cleaned up, confident and well-spoken, and the entire interview circles the idea of integrity.

He's been careful to remained pretty quiet this whole time, showing both integrity and confidence while following the law and the Constitution he defends.

And now he's giving a very clearly polished public interview.

I wouldn't mind seeing him in the mix myself. I've been calling him one of our anti-fascist heros for years now. Let's see what he has to say.

Thoughts? Let's discuss.

Opioid of the Masses (From 2016)

Excerpt:

The great tragedy is that many of the problems Trump identifies are real, and so many of the hurts he exploits demand serious thought and measured action—from governments, yes, but also from community leaders and individuals. Yet so long as people rely on that quick high, so long as wolves point their fingers at everyone but themselves, the nation delays a necessary reckoning. There is no self-reflection in the midst of a false euphoria. Trump is cultural heroin. He makes some feel better for a bit. But he cannot fix what ails them, and one day they’ll realize it.

Some ideas for the promotion of evidence preservation.

The time has come for us to start thinking like the monuments men. We need to work on preserving many things until this nightmare is over, and that includes evidence in both past and future elections.

Here are some ideas I have to further that goal:

Build support among the public

Tell everyone you know. Hold demonstrations. Ask questions. Work on making disposing of potential evidence related to any election before it can be properly examined politically radioactive. And don't be afraid to tailor your message to your audience. We all have to do that to some extent.

Sway people with the power to do something to your side

Use persuasion. Use leverage. Use obnoxiousness if you have to. Use anything short of threats of violence or destruction.

Don't be afraid to be inconvenient

If there are people obstructing, feel free to make their lives absolute hell. Don't let them go out in public without somebody getting in their face and confronting them. Don't let them have a good night's sleep. Don't let them experience a moment of peace until they let you have what you want.

Use whatever communication methods are available

Since Ashley St. Clair and her claims have been making the rounds, has anybody tried reaching out to her? She could really get the word out and help people figure out what to do.

Got any ideas of your own? Feel free to share them in the comments!

Belgian diamond group that won tariff relief gifted Trump a lavishly encrusted ring

BRUSSELS (AP) — Dozens of diamonds spell out two giant letter T’s next to the Stars and Stripes and “1776” and “2026.” Dozens more frame the numbers 45 and 47 in the shape of Superman’s logo. A diamond-winged eagle carries a ruby shield and clutches an olive branch of emeralds, below a radiant “250” and atop the phrase “250 YEARS USA” etched in 18-karat gold.

All told, 321 diamonds, 56 sapphires, 13 emeralds and six rubies encrust the watch-sized gold ring presented this week to Bill White, the U.S. ambassador to Belgium, to give to U.S. President Donald Trump.
