How was the October test?

Tell us how it went! What worked for you? What didn't work? Were you able to follow the Demon's advice of "treating it like another practice test," or did something get in the way?

To September Test Takers

Good luck this week! Go in with the mindset that you will be extra focused and ready to perform at your best. If you get flustered, take a deep breath and reset. Look for a simple flaw or connection that you're missing. Remember that there are no new tricks–the problems are the same as the practice you've done.

September Test Week PSA

Don't change anything about your studying at the last minute. Keep doing what you've been doing. There is nothing special about the official test, and there is no "secret sauce" to cram in at the last minute. Commit to the approach you've been practicing, and see it through to the finish line!

August Test Motivation Thread

Wishing all August test-takers good luck this week! Here are a few pieces of advice I like to share with students.

Don't change anything at the last minute. Stay consistent in how you approach problems. Keep doing what you've been doing! That also applies to your morning and evening routines. If you drink coffee, drink coffee. If you don't, don't.

Get a good night's sleep and eat a good breakfast.

Go into the test with the mindset that you'll be at your best. No phone buzzing in your pocket halfway through a problem. You'll be well-rested and extra focused. Use that to your advantage!

If a problem you encounter seems new, it isn't. It could be an experimental question, but more likely, there's something simple you're missing in the passage or answer choice. If you've prepared well, you've seen everything there is to see!

What are your plans for the night before and the morning of the test?
