I’m looking for the best strategy to consistently beat my friend in Frantic Items mode. Because we play with CPUs, 80% of the time we both finish in 1st and 2nd place. It usually comes down to item luck at the end (who’s got more red shells or defense items)

I’ve tried front running, but the amount of blue shells and red shells makes it very hard to stay in 1st.

I’ve also tried bagging, but it’s very hard to consistently catch up to him in 1st unless I’m on certain tracks (Cheese Land) or unless I manage to time a shock dodge.

Also suggest the best stat to prioritize in this mode (speed vs mini turbo).
