I inherited a condo after my father passed away. The mortgage on the condo has been paid off by my parents years ago.
I have no interest in living in the condo, so my son has decided to move in. The deal we worked out is he will buy my daughter and I out. (Technically I was the sole beneficiary, but I choose to split everything 3 ways between myself and my 2 children, hence my son paying my daughter and I a monthly sum)
My plan was just to write up an agreement, and have it signed and notarized. However my son mentioned tonight that we might need a lawyer.
Does anyone know if we need a lawyer, or can we get away with drafting an agreement on our own, and getting it notarized?
