Back to back matches where there was major ambiguity on the legality of using shoot throughs to take out multiple threats simultaneously. A month ago I was told in the pre-match briefing that as long as we engage the “visible” target in correct tactical priority, that it was okay hitting another target behind it out of priority because “all target shoot throughs count” but it was not deliberate engagement. At that match they let us skip engaging those targets once visually confirming we had two hits on them.
At today’s match, I was told by our squad SO that every target requires two shots fired, and even if we made 2 hits with shoot throughs, we were required to send two more shots in tactical priority afterwards. This had significant consequences on one stage, where the down zero circle was removed from a pair of targets for ease of pasting, but the next target in tactical priority could clearly be shot at through the down zero hole.
It doesn’t seem like the 2026 rulebook handles this explicitly, but I would like clarity so I know in the future what is and isn’t legal when shoot throughs would be advantageous.
