Okay so a lot of people have not understood my comment about eating solid foods day 5 that help the scabs fall off so let me explain a bit better. I got my surgery in 2024. My brother got his surgery in 2017. My brother did not introduce solid foods at all. He actually had multiple bleeds that needed to be cauterized, it was really bad. Due to bleeding increased in patients that did not introduce solid foods fast enough, doctors are now recommending you eating solid foods on day 5. This helps naturally challenge the scabs and makes their removal easier. This does not mean you should try to scrape your scabs off (please god do not do that) there are multiple doctors that have switched to this (mine + check YouTube). I didn’t once bleed and my scabs fell out much sooner and I had a way better recovery than my brother. Obviously you should follow your doctors advice but the truth is this information is readily available. If you had a tonsillectomy less recently you may have not heard of it. Ultimately the goal is to help people have a better recovery. Please consult with your doctor but I’m a tad bit annoyed people think I’m making this up. I hope this helps someone 🙏🏻
