Hi everyone. I'm currently recording Footsteps in order to build a little audio asset for fun. I'd like to make an asset that could be actually helpful for game devs.
So, here my questions:
- Do I have to separate the Impact sound (the short impact of the foot on the ground), from the foley sound (the foot moving the grass during the entire movement cycle)?
(My idea was to make 4/5 impact sounds and 4/5 foley tails in order to give freedom for combination and variety)
- Do you put reverb/FX's directly on the game engine?
- If not, do you prefer to have a DRY and a WET version of the same audio sample, or a DRY version of the Footstep with a separated Reverb/Resonance without the "Impact" in it?
- Could a Reverb on the audio file waste the directionality of the Sound in-game?
Thank you in advance for your comments!
