Are local businesses actually using AI agents this way?

I saw Alexander Wang say that a lot of people are already using Muse to run small businesses — plumbing companies, grocery stores, farms, restaurants, and shops — and that they're now adding more connectors for those use cases.

That claim caught my attention because most of the AI-agent discussion I see still seems to come from people building or selling AI tools, rather than the businesses themselves.

For anyone here who works with or runs a local business: are you actually seeing this happen?

What are businesses letting AI handle today — scheduling, customer messages, marketing, bookkeeping, operations, something else?

And more importantly, is it producing a noticeable business result, or is it mostly just saving a little time?

Would especially love to hear firsthand examples.

Are websites becoming less important for local businesses?

I recently came across several restaurant websites that were broken, badly outdated, or even compromised and redirecting visitors to gambling sites. What surprised me was that the restaurants themselves were still active on Google Maps, delivery apps, and social media, so it didn’t seem like the website was a high priority.

It made me wonder whether this is becoming normal.

For restaurants, customers can already get almost everything from Google Maps, Yelp, Instagram, DoorDash/Uber Eats, etc. But for something like a contractor, dentist, lawyer, or home service business, I personally still look for a good website before I trust them.

So I’m curious: does the importance of having your own website now depend heavily on the industry?

Can someone help alert the owner of Zhangliang Spicy Hotpot in Rowland Heights? Their website may be compromised

Hi everyone — hoping someone local can help with this.

I noticed that the website linked to Zhangliang Spicy Hotpot in Rowland Heights
(1380 Fullerton Rd #104) appears to have been compromised / hacked.

I’m not affiliated with the restaurant, and I’m not trying to sell them anything. I just happened to notice the issue while looking at the restaurant online, and I’m concerned customers clicking the website from Google could be exposed to something malicious.

I’m currently not able to call or visit the restaurant myself.

If anyone here happens to eat there or lives nearby, would you mind letting the owner or manager know that they should check their website ASAP?

Happy to DM screenshots/details of what I found if that helps.

Thanks!
