[Product Question] Retin-A 0.025% gel consistency - Any alternatives?
I've been using Retin-A gel for about a month now, and I don't really know the best way to apply it. It's almost like rubbing alcohol where as soon as it hits the air it evaporates. Initally, I did little dots around my face, but by the time I'd go to spread it, it would already absorb. Now, I work in sections but I still don't know if I'm applying it evenly. And even after waiting an appropriate amount of time to apply my moisterizer after, it pills and becomes stringy.
Does anyone have any reccomendations for application or even a different presciption brand or if there's the 0.05% cream version is better than the gel? I've also seen people mention tazarotene gel/cream, is it easier to apply?
I'm in Canada, and have a doc appointment coming up soon and would like ask for a different formula. I don't really have acne anymore, so I'm mostly looking to improve my skin texture and scarring.
Also I have used tretinoin before. I used Bianca for a several months last year (unfortunately had to switch to accutance). It was 1.2% clindamycin and 0.025% tret and was a much better consistency and easier to apply. I don't need the antibiotic in Bianca anymore which is why I got prescribed Retin-A.
