Is it too late to prepare for MSQE 2027? How can I plan the prep?
Qualifications: BSc. Economics graduate
I decided to give MSQE on a whim this year. I wasn’t confident, but I prepared for a month and gave the test anyway. The difficulty level was nothing like what I had seen in the PYQs. I’ll definitely start my Master’s in Economics this year, but I’d like to give ISI another shot next year. Is it too late to start studying now?
This year’s experience was so bad that I’m not sure I want to put in the effort if no amount of hard work is going to get me where I want to be.
Following is what I've gathered so far in terms of how I can study:
- For Mathematics, go for the Test of Mathematics at the 10+2 Level
- For Microeconomics, Varian
- For Macroeconomics, Donbusch
- For Statistics and Econometrics, SC Gupta and Damodar Gujarati
- And of course, PYQs
Are there books I should refer to instead of these? ISI loves twists, so I worry, would these books (nd self-study) be enough to be able to solve those tricky questions?
