Do I have a chance?
UGA: 64
UGB: attempted 5+2/3, confident about all except one.

Im a 12th grade student preparing for ISI and CMI for 2027. Im preparing from a online batch for it. What mock scores in UGA and UGB i shouls target to say that i can highly tend to get into ISI or CMI.
Can we pursue Mstat after doing btech cuz mera bstat qualify hone ke bahut kam chances hai and I really want to do something pertaining to maths and stats
i am getting 55 marks in uga, and solve 4 questions in ubg, and a half 5th question, how much marks do you need for getting into the merit list, how much marks do you need for actually getting a seat, explain me all of it, also i am obc, and what is this thing with the interview? i dont know nothing about it, just gave the paper becuase my parents filled the form but now i am getting low marks in advance, so i am just looking for options, people are saying uga cut off would be 55 to 60 but how is that possible, i myself have seen more than 200 guys claiming to be aboue 70 online, there are only 120 seats so how is that even possible?
I think I'm gonna be joining next year as a double dropper 😭, and I don't see anyone in the subreddit. So on campus, how many double droppers are there?
Will I be eligible to apply for ISI 2027 ? I was dealing with personal issues and health issues since 2022 which made my life a hell.
Y'all drop ur UGA scores
Guys if u accidentally selected according to ur PCA marks then comment down ur PCB marks
Just got a message that the answer keys have been published.
But I can't find them where are they?
Uga 70
Ugb got 4 full correct
Fucked up the 8th and 3rd problem
Apart from that 2 partial attempts
In geometry i did a partial solve(drew the figure and made some initial remarks)
I sketched the graph only for (0,1) arguing that f(x)=f(1/x)
I'm gen male.
Any chances of getting into isi bmath?
Expected uga cutoff based on what you are getting
Hi everyone,
I’m planning for 2027 admissions and trying to decide whether to prepare for M.Stat or MSQE at ISI. I’ll also be applying to foreign mathematical/computational finance programs like CMU, Oxford, Imperial, ETH Zurich, NUS etc. whose applications start later this year, but those programs would also begin in 2027.
My background: IIT Kharagpur dual degree, B.Tech Chemical Engineering + M.Tech Financial Engineering, CGPA 8.61. I’ve done coursework in probability/statistics, regression & time series, stochastic calculus, financial mathematics, derivatives/risk, financial econometrics, market microstructure, and ML.
I’ve also completed Certification in Quantitative Finance (CQF) with a score of 93 overall and cleared FRM Level 1 with top quartiles. My projects are mostly in quant finance/ML: local volatility and delta hedging, ML-based trend prediction, portfolio optimization, exotic derivatives pricing, etc.
Long term, I’m targeting quant-style roles in quant research/trading, derivatives/risk modelling, systematic research, or ML/data-driven investing, at firms like DE Shaw, JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley, BlackRock, etc. I may also consider applying again to foreign mathematical/computational finance programs after a few years of work if needed.
From the outside, M.Stat seems stronger for probability, statistics, inference, time series, ML, and mathematical depth. MSQE seems more economics/econometrics/finance oriented.
For my goals, which would be the better fit to seriously prepare for: M.Stat or MSQE?
Would appreciate honest inputs on curriculum fit, placements, and future signalling value.
P.S. I’m currently based out of Delhi NCR, so any inputs on Kolkata vs Delhi campus considerations for M.Stat/MSQE would also be helpful.
I gave the ISI Entrance Test half-heartedly this year, being very honest. Was primarily focused on JEE, but I have always had a soft spot for mathematics. I did solve the pyps and some other online material, but no proper books or coaching.
It was a great experience, I loved thinking about the various problems, but UGA was much tougher than I had anticipated. I knew I would struggle with number theory and combinatorics a bit, but even calculus did not seem to be of much help. And those Multiple Choice questions were incredible, i completely solved only one. Matching with the answer keys today, I am not crossing 60, but cant complain much about that.
UGB paper seemed kinda easy compared to last years.. I myself managed 3 proofs, proper logic and all, and attempted 3 others partially.
So now I am really thinking if I should take a drop (full or maybe partial) to thoroughly prep for this exam. It has reinvigorated some part of me that seemed to have disappeared in my +2.
I would really appreciate any inputs from seniors, and the serious aspirants out there...
Got 92 in PEA. All eyes on PEB now. What would be the cutoffs or the safe zone??
