On way to delete/tune and engine light came on

Just crossed the 100k mile mark w a 3rd gen ecodiesel and im on my way to get the truck tuned.

After fueling up, the check engine light came on - i was going to have it tuned tomorrow morning.

Pulled over and going to have it looked at by closest dealership tomorrow.

No messages or codes.

Not sure what to do except get it looked at, any advice would be helpful.

Rai ing during oil change ge

2021 RaM ecodiesel.

Went to do an oil change and I opened the cap and started to drain it.

It started monsooning so i closed the hood before it came down hard.

A couple minutes into the storm, i realized my cap was still off.

I have not opened the hood to put the cap on during the heavy rain.

An i f’d?

Dash and center display backlight randomly dimming

Been driving on the highway for a couple of hours - randomly the dash and center display’s backlight has completely dimmed. Gave it a minute and it brightened back up. Pulled over to turn it on and off again, and as soon as I turned it off, the display popped back to normal brightness. I let it sit for 30 seconds and then turned it back on to a dimmed display.

Battery voltage reads anywhere from 13v to 13.7 v depending on if i’m coasting or foot on gas.

Any ideas what could be going on? Truck is driving fine.

GAP Insurance

Bought a 3rd gen, and I understand these are generally more reliable, but curious if anyone has had experience with GAP insurance wrt engine failure or something similar.

I’m already $20k underwater on the loan. In the event something like this happens, will GAP cover it?

3rd Gen - First time owner

Hey guys - lurked a bit on forums for a couple of months to try to do my own research and hoping someone can help point me in the right direction.

First truck, first diesel.

Bought a ‘21 3rd gen Ecodiesel w 75k miles on it in Feb (right before energy spiked). I have 87k now and 100k warranty.

I drive 500 miles at a time, typically, up and down the east coast, so I think I’m driving it the way it should be driven.

Oil changes every 5k miles so far.

I expect the emissions system will fall off around 100k and looking for resources on the best way to go about it.

Looks like a tune might make sense but I want this thing to last 300k miles and am considering straight piping it. Assume it will be offroad.

I’ve seen a lot of 1st and 2nd gen content for deletion, but less for 3rd gen.

Lastly - i didn’t understand payload when buying so it can’t haul as much as I would like. (10k lbs when I need to haul.) i do like the truck and the efficiency when empty, but considered upgrading to a 3500 potentially.

Should I upgrade, mod somehow, and/or delete?

Thank you for your consideration.
