Geofencing breaks when Accessory power is on for short intervals
I just purchased a new A329S with the HK4 and I have a compatibility issue with Geofencing in my Volvo vehicle (the A329S is running version 2.1 firmware). When I park at home the Geofencing feature causes the A329S to turn off as expected when I turn off the vehicle and open the car doors (causing Accessory power to turn off). However, when I lock the vehicle doors my vehicle turns Accessory power back on for 15 seconds, which causes the A329S to power back on briefly and oftentimes enter Parking Mode versus shutting off.
I believe Geofencing randomly fails to turn off the dash cam in this situation because the GPS location often cannot be reestablished within the short 15-second Accessory-on interval. Note that I have seen this occur intermittently even if I enable Parking GPS (I had expected the A329S to shut down if Parking GPS discovered that I was in a Geofencing zone).
I'll look for a different circuit to attach the HK4 to, but it still seems that any time Accessory power is on for a short period could prevent Geofencing from shutting off the dash cam completely, regardless of vehicle type. Perhaps VIOFO firmware engineers could come up with a Geofencing workaround for short ACC-power intervals.
I would especially like Geofencing to work in my vehicle because it also has a blinking security LED on the dash that the A329S interprets as motion, causing continuous recording when parked in the dark if Motion Detection is enabled.
