Need recs for a very specific type of book

Hey! Im looking for a very specific type of Romantic fantasy book and was hoping you guys could help. I'm looking for what I would consider Dark Fantasy with a romantic subplot, by that I mean dark themes about social injustice, violence, etc. I really enjoy suffering alongside the characters and reading about their resilience and strength. I love topics of revolution an overthrowing the government. Having a romance subplot is a major plus for me. Here are some examples of books I have read and loved that match the description imo:

  • Alchemised (This one is my point of reference, I want to feel exactly what I felt with this book)
  • Mistborn
  • Throne of Glass
  • Parable of the Sower (Although I would say it is science fiction)
  • The Poppy War
  • Blood Over Bright Haven
  • An Ember in the Ashes
  • The Handmaid's Tale
  • Daughter of No Worlds (Honestly didn't love it)

PS: I have tried Red Rising and it's too male gazey for me. I felt like it lacked a lot of emotional depth and honestly couldn't stand the main character.

Please let me know any recommendations you can think of. Love you guys.
