Is the MC protection plan better for a new MacBook Pro? (I got the base M5 Max open-box deal, on top of the 10% off sale)

The 3-year plan was $399. I went with it kind of reflexively. But, am I out of luck after that point??

What’s the best way to utilize that MC protection plan if I go that route?

I am a very indecisive, sleep-deprived person. I also have manic spells since I had my life ruined by a car wreck. 0/5 stars, do not recommend.

I just upgraded from an M1 Max 16” 32GB/1TB to:

M5 Max 16” 36GB/2TB.

The M1 Max (and M2) had a 400 GB/s RAM bandwidth, regardless of configuration.

Since the M3 Max, the higher-GPU Max chip has a 33% boost in RAM bandwidth. (I just discovered this difference.)

That’s a substantial difference, and I haven’t seen it covered properly from any reviewers I’ve watched and read.

I’ve exclusively seen the M5 Max as 614 GB/s by reviewers.

Can anyone elaborate on what this difference is worth? I don’t need the extra 8 GPU cores, but I believed I was getting the “Max” memory bandwidth when I purchased my M5 Max (especially for such a $$$ premium).
