Lumibricks Sunset Stopover Turbo Review

or the breakdown below:

First up, what we like!

Nice small display / starter set
This is a nice little roadside build that works well as a desk display and also feels like a decent smaller entry point if you’re just trying Lumibricks out.

The pickup truck is the highlight
For me, the old-school pickup is easily the best part of the set. It looks great and has a lot of charm.

Truck lighting is especially well done
The headlights look really good and help the truck stand out even more.

Functional doors on the pickup
Always nice when a smaller vehicle still has a little functionality worked in.

Fits the roadside Americana theme
If you already have sets like the gas station or Twilight Motel, this one at least matches that general roadside feel.

Now, what we’d change.

Not enough room inside the truck
It’s hard getting the figure in and out, and side-by-side seating would have made this much better.

Should have connected better with existing sets
It fits the vibe, but it doesn’t really connect or blend well enough with the other roadside sets.

Telephone booth details could be better
The telephone itself feels underdone. A little better design work or printing would have helped.

Light strips don’t stick well enough
That gets annoying fast and definitely should be better.

Telephone booth sign should look more weathered
This scene has a slightly run-down roadside feel, so the sign should match that environment better.

Telephone booth feels oversized
The scale is a bit off compared to the figures.

Figures still need improvement
As always, I’d still prefer more realism and better articulation.

Closing thoughts

Overall, I’m giving this one 3.75 lightsabers out of 5.

For me, this set is mostly worth it for the pickup truck. The rest of the scene is cute, but I’ll probably end up parting most of it out. Curious what you all think: would you keep this set together, or mostly want it for the truck too?

or the breakdown below:

First up, what we like!

  1. The pictures really do not do this set justice. Lumibricks had a difficult task here, taking such an iconic painting and turning it into brick form, and I think they did that exceedingly well. The layered textures, the swirling clouds, the rolling hills, the cypress trees, and the golden field all work together to create something that feels alive. This has a very cool 3-dimensional art look to it, and that is what makes this set so impressive.
  2. The lighting adds a whole lot here. The touch control on the side of the frame is fantastic, and I really like that you get multiple lighting modes. You have the top spotlight lighting, the internal accent lighting, or both together. That flexibility helps this feel more like a true display piece and less like just another brick set.
  3. It’s versatile. You can display it on a desk or on a wall, and I like that they included pieces that can catch onto screw heads so it can be mounted securely. That makes it work really well as home décor.
  4. The extras are nice. You get a Van Gogh figure, a miniature printed painting, an extra printed painting with no stickers, a brick-built mini version of the artwork, and a lot of extra pieces. Those details make the set feel more premium.

Now, what we’d change.

  1. If you use the battery box, the frame is not flush to the wall. This is a strange choice because the build has so many layers, and I feel like they could have designed the battery box to sit within that layered space so the frame would rest flat. Also, the triple A batteries did not seem to last very long.
  2. It felt smaller than expected. As awesome as this looks, when I saw it in person, it felt smaller than I thought it would be. I’m curious if anyone else had that same reaction.
  3. Some of the wires could have been hidden better. Especially the exposed wire on the side of the frame. I actually had a problem related to that, which I talked about in my Day 38 video.
  4. There may be more pieces here than there needed to be. There are a lot of layers in this build, including layers you really do not even see. I feel like they may have been able to reduce the part count and lower the price a bit.
  5. Definitely not beginner friendly. There are a lot of similar colors, and the build itself is not the most fun build. That is probably just the nature of wall art sets though, since most of the payoff comes once the final product is complete.

Closing thoughts

Overall, I’m giving this set 4.5 lightsabers out of 5. Definitely a great-looking wall display for your home, or even a great gift for someone you are looking to buy for.

I'm asking chatgpt to make a thumbnail for my youtube channel. It's my face and a product of a set I'm reviewing. It's made thumbnails before so Im not sure why its not making it. Any advice to get around this?
