What can I eat days 8-14 post op?

Hello everyone,

I am surviving. It is day 7 and I’m feeling ok. Pain is like a 2/10 but in the mornings 8/10. I was just wondering what can I plan to meal prep for days 8-14? I’m planning to work from home tomorrow and Friday, then back in office on Monday. I need to know what I can meal prep for these in office days (probably for all of next week).

I was thinking sweet potato with finely chopped ground beef? Maybe a fish for dinner flaked up? I cannot bring fish to the office lol.

Also, right now I’m not super able to eat yet as my mouth can barely open (cannot yawn) and I have NO appetite (surgery stuff makes me nauseous and I can’t stop thinking how the back of my throat is just a white nasty scab). I’m planning for the next days ahead to be better lol.

Some foods I didn’t know I could eat

Hello group. I’m day 5 post op and going insane. What are some foods you were able to eat post op that you didn’t know you could? Like some soft foods where you were like oh wow, this is so easy to swallow. I’m starving

Update: I was able to eat egg 🥚 which took ten minutes for one egg but I got it down

How to get taste out of mouth?

Day 4 post op. Pretty bad but that taste in my mouth from the scabs is unbearable. When I drink, I taste it. When I swallow, I taste it. When I try to eat applesauce (not going well) I taste it. How to make it stop. I’m nauseous from the taste!

The hunger is killing me!

I am day three post op, not much pain right now besides freaking starving to death! All I have been eating is applesauce and I’ve tried Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes but the thought of eating those things again makes me want to vomit. Please what are some food recommendations that are yummy that I can eat.

I love breads, pancakes, breakfast, pasta, fruits, veggies, and I just cannot keep living off of popsicles, applesauce, and puddings for even one more day.

Nervous!

I am a 24 F and getting my tonsils out in three days! I have an anxiety disorder and I am super scared. So I am getting them out because I have frequent tonsil stones, huge craters in them, and severe tonsillitis at least twice a year (like so bad that I am on a liquid diet and 103 fevers bad). So I thought before I get too old, I should get them out now. I’m just scared!

I got my wisdom teeth out before so that’s why I’m basing it off on. I have my cool mist humidifier, soft foods, some soft food meal preps, and tons of hydration drinks. I’m just worried because I only have enough PTO for 8 days of recovery. And I go to online school on top of that. I am already a week ahead of school but do you guys think I’ll be able to still go to school during my recovery?

Also if anyone can tell me about your experience like at the surgical center and right after the surgery? How long should my boyfriend be expecting to hang around there (we live an hour away from the surgery place)?

Help calm a girl down lol. Thanks!

24 Female getting Tonsils Removed in August

Hey everyone. I am an adult about to get my tonsils removed in a month (August 12th). I am getting them removed because I have sleep apnea (I snore and wake up a lot throughout the night), vertigo, tonsil stones, bad breath, and occasional strep throat/tonsillitis. They are also very big, almost to the point of touching, even when I don’t have a sore throat.

I was wondering if anyone had any tips and tricks to a speedy/less painful recovery? I have my boyfriend taking care of me during my recovery post op. I only have five days of PTO I can take for recovery then I need to start working from home after those days run out.

Also…I was invited to go to a theme park August 30th. Do you guys think I can go or no?

Any advice, things to avoid/do, or any suggestions are appreciated!
