Hi all!

First time poster, I hope this is the right group. I had an excavation company come in and build up a level pad in my yard for a playset I bought for my kids. For reference, I live in East Tennessee near Knoxville. The soil is clay-heavy. I've outlined the list of potential issues I see.

  1. The pad has deep (at least 8 inches) fissures throughout. They are about 1 up to 2 inches wide.

  2. The quote stated they would bring in "clean sifted fill dirt", but there are large rocks (up to 8 inches in diameter) embedded in the entire pad.

  3. The side slopes are crumbly and collapse underfoot.

My concern is that these issues will cause the pad to become unstable and collapse under the playset over time. I've also included a photo of the playset that will be installed in the area. Can anyone with experience weigh in on whether my concerns are valid?

Thank you all so much for your insight!
