Some interesting “stats” I noticed!

- Out of all the girls who made it into KATSEYE, Megan is the only one who wasn’t given immunity
- And out of all the finalists Emily, Marquise, and Megan were the only one not too make top six (Emily was the closest at 7th in mission three!)
-Lara, sophia and were the finale contestants with the longest top six rank for all three missions. Daniela, Samara, Yoonchae all had two. While Ezerla, and Manon were in the top six once!
- also Emily is the only one who’s rank increased consistently throughout each mission, going 14th-13th-7th. Everyone else either stayed the same or went down!
- generally speaking the girls who were stronger in vocals did better in rank than dance girlies. This was really true in the first mission, with 5/6, the second had 4/6, and the third had 4/6 as well.
- the most successful mission was confident (100 mission pass rate and finale rate!)
- anti fragile team a and b, and confident teams have all debuted (if you count Lexie having songs on streaming due to world scout add happier than ever and fearless team a as well!!)
- Lara and Sophia had received immunity each mission!

What stats did you notice?

My General Thoughts on Popstar academy/dream academy

Okay I'd like to clarify that I very recently got into this, and only watched the survival show a few weeks ago. But I have thoughts...and I'll try to make them in some kind of order. Read the overall thought if you don't want to read the whole thing.

  1. The Survival Show
    • It was BEYOND messed up that none of the girls knew that it was a survival Show, especially since Karlee had been asking about that. How is this not a contract violation? Though I totally understand why the girls went through with it, because if you are already halfway there, why would you stop?
    • I also think that the second elimination was unnecessarily cruel, to the point where I had to stop the show. I could not stop cringing at the tactless way they told the girls private questions, and their responses. also telling both Brooklyn and UA that NO ONE voted for them was genuinely so mean, and I'm honestly glad neither made it, because why would you want to debut with people who didn't vote for you? and more importantly: why would they damage these girls mental and psychological health for some buzz?
  2. Overall Thought:, I'm aware that survival shows usually do this, but the issue is that these girls had not a clue what they signed up for. They should have been given a choice and discussed it with their family/Guardians/etc so they could make the choice that's best for them.
  3. The Missions
    • Each Mission had their own issues, but I'll put my general thoughts below. LMK if you want them on each individual Mission , cause oh boy do I have many.
      • Mission one: Honestly, this mission was just fine. There was nothing that made me hate or love it. BUT
      • The Pink Venom outfits generally made me confused. They were so stiff, and its a dancing mission, and the girls mentioned they couldn't move. Why would they do that?
      • Also the vocal missions were always going to do better. Because to a general audience, singing covers are more engaging than a dance cover, which is why other than Yoonchae was the vocal covers were in the top six.
    • Mission Two
      • WHO PUT THESE GIRLS UP FOR ANTIFRAGILE? That is so stupid hard compared to Fearless. Obviously both come with struggles, but the antifragile girls were set up for failure imo. Especially team B, because they had the most changed.
      • also the audio for Fearless was semi pre-recorded, because they sound just a little too clean, and the antifragile ones don't.
    • Mission Three
      • I feel like confident was also set up for failure, slightly. This is because it's the least distinct. Buttons was clearly the darker, edgier concept, and Wannabe was on the opposite end of the spectrum, being cutesy. But Confident was somewhat in the middle, making it the least memorable.
      • Overall, you can see how much the girls improved, and I would have loved to see how the eliminated girlies did. I mourn Karlees cover of Confident lol.
    • Finale
      • Okay... I feel like dirty water was a much better song than Girls Don't Like. I also think its funny that with the exception of Ezerla it was the girls who were vocalists (dirty water, which I would argue is much more vocal heavy) and those who were dancers (girls don't like, again much more dance heavy.)
      • I also think its really ironic that they pit the girls against each other and than made them sing all the same, like what were they thinking.

This is getting way too long, but I have so many more thoughts, but I'll put them in another post.

Heres My theory (as a combo of what we know, and what we can guess). Please note: I am nowhere near a professional, so this is at most an opinion (not to be taken seriously). If there is a professional who has a difference in opinion please LMK! (because your take will problay be more accurate with technique)

  1. Emily-- ranking confirmed
  2. Daniela – ranking confirmed
  3. Megan– ranking confirmed
  4. Ua – ranking confirmed
  5. Ezrela – ranking confirmed
  6. Marquise – ranking confirmed
  7. Adela – ranking confirmed
  8. Lexie – she was always thought to be a really good dancer, and was #6 at the top of the show. Its possible she moved down like Adea with the arrival of others, or simply because of her surgery.
  9. Karlee – she was also mentioned to be in level B along with pretty much everyone else already on this list (but also, I really do enjoy her dancing style!). She was mentioned to have improve A LOT, being 7th overall and having a singing rank of 4, so I'm assuming her dance rank is lower, but enough too much.
  10. Yoonchae – ranking confirmed
  11. Sophia – I think Sophia was able to benefit from simply being at dream academy for such a long time. She was originally ranked in level D, and then C, and was going up consistently. She was said to have improved a lot, and she danced really well in the missions, showing change and growth.
  12. Mei – ranking confirmed.
  13. Celeste – I think that she was a stronger dancer than singer. I feel she was able to maybe blend in better when dancing? Eitherways, really enjoyed her dancing style.
  14. Lara – Lara came in as a vocalist, but had a natural rythym to her dancing. Which makes me feel shes more of a natural talent rather than a technical dancer (idk how true that is though) so I ranked her lower than Celeste.
  15. Samara – it had been stated many times that Samara did have injuries that affected her Stamanina (her knee). But she did this rytham challenge with Illyia that makes believe like Lara, she did have a natural rythym.
  16. Illyia – Like Sophia, I believe that Illyia did benefit from T&D A LOT but just not to the same level. She was always presented as a stronger vocalist though, and her vocals absolutely shined.
  17. Hinari – ranking confirmed.
  18. Nayong – I think her previous k-pop training probably helped her, but its fairly clear that she prefers and is better at singing. INSANE vocals though. I also think she was simply underdeveloped.
  19. Brooklyn – it was mentioned throughout Dream Academy and the Doc that she needs dancing work. I also believe that she did manage to improve a lot, but the other contestants were simply stronger. I do love her solo work, and believe that she's much better off as a solo artist anyways.
  20. Manon– again, I just think at the time she was simply underdeveloped. Had this ranking been today, she'd be MUCH higher. Her improvement goes crazy, but she had only been there for so long at T&D. Another reason is that she was 20 overall, but 19 in vocals. Which makes me think her dance ranking was lower.
