Neutrogena hydro boost water gel used to burn my eyes but now it doesn't. I'm confused.
When I first tried the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel around 2022–2023, it used to sting and burn my eyes pretty badly.
I LOVED the silky cooling gel texture so I continued using it anyway for around a year, but the eye irritation was genuinely annoying. Eventually it just ended up sitting in my vanity unused.
Then I randomly repurchased a refill in December 2025 and… somehow it didn’t burn my eyes anymore??
I thought maybe it was a coincidence, but I repurchased another refill again this month and still no burning or watery eyes at all.
Now I’m genuinely confused.
Did Neutrogena reformulate the Water Gel version at some point? Or did my skin barrier improve over time? Or did my eyes just become less sensitive somehow? 😭
I know they reformulated parts of the Hydro Boost line globally, but I’m specifically talking about the regular Water Gel sold in India.
Did anyone else notice this change?
