Daisy Lineage Theory
Gilead is 10-12 years old based on the age of Hannah/Agnes. Aunt Estee admits she’s the first ever pearl girl to come into Gilead. She’s not super young, as the aunts (Gabanna, Vidala, and Estee) seem to be around their early 30s or so. So why would an adult enter Gilead willingly?
My theory is she was raped by Weston in “America.” She got out during the regime shift, but her baby (Daisy) was left behind in Gilead. Aunt Estee is looking for her baby. Thats also why she was so upset with herself after Daisy went to the dentist office. She knows what it’s like to be assaulted.
The theory continues that Daisy is eventually snuck out of Gilead into Canada and raised by Neal and Melanie. That’s why Gilead wants her back so much.
Aunt Estee eventually immigrates into Gilead (during her young 20’s) to look for her daughter? Where else would her daughter possibly be? But a school for the young girls of Gilead. She gets eventually a position of an Aunt (in her 30s). She then spends years waiting for her daughter.
Aunt Lydia has the lineages of all the girls, and she knows Weston is Daisy’s father. But doesn’t know who her mother is. Estee will tell her something and everything will click for Lydia how to take down Gilead.
