I'm currently finishing year 12 and hoping to go to Oxford for history and spanish. I was thinking over the summer I would do a research project ( as in write a historical essay, a bit like a mini EPQ ) so I could talk about it for UCAS, I was just wondering if anyone thinks that's a good thing to do for it ( for the history part of my application ) and anything history events/periods I could do it on!! I'm leaning more towards Chinese/Middle Eastern history, but really I'd like to do any sort of non-European history thing to broaden my historical knowledge

What suppercurriculars can I do for spanish? We were supposed to have a debate at my school but it cancelled. I've entered a translation competition, helped out with younger years preparing for their speaking exams, did two subject days at Oxford for languages and went to a spanish lecture at my local uni. I was just wondering anything else I could do that would help me stand out, cause I'm hoping to go to Oxford.

I do AQA and we do 2D, religious conflict and the church in england, and I just don't understand how to do well. I mean I did pretty well in my mock, but I just feel like every exam question we get isn't actually taught, like they're so niche and specific, and I don't know how to prepare for them. Does anyone doing the same have any advice??
