Happy Fourth of July, Mike Shannon. One of the best calls in Cardinals history.
In the midst of everything else, I’ll be cracking open a cold one for the Moon Man today. Give it to ‘em, big boy, give it to ‘em.

Okay so right now I am planning my next story. A fantasy with intense worldbuilding, strong magic system and a lot of arcs. I've done all the world building, characters, backstories and I have a rough outline of the plot. I have 4 very solid, good protagonists who are an established group and work really well as a team.
But I realized suddenly that none of my main characters have any siblings, which in my experience is honestly pretty unrealistic. I think my characters probably have siblings. But then if I think about it, their siblings might have siblings. So I’ll need to make them too.
And then I thought so more and I was like “okay but what about their baristas?” Each of these characters probably gets their morning coffee from a different place—because they are four well-rounded characters who are all just different enough to want coffee from a different place that reflects their specific vibe. So I know my world has at least 4 characters, 4 siblings, and 4 baristas.
But I don’t know if the baristas have siblings. In my experience, I’ve never known if a barista did or didn’t have a sibling. So this is unknowable.
Also also I was watching this documentary about where babies (fancy word for little characters) came from and I was like “omg MOMS!” Duh. So I think I’ll need like 8 moms because in my experience that is where babies come from. No dads because in my experience I don’t know him.
So I guess my ultimate question is do you think any of the 8 moms and 8 siblings in my story would get coffee from the same 4 baristas as the main characters? I think I’ll probably need to invent some more coffee places. Which is good because at some point in the future I’ll probably need to actually write this son of a bitch but I’ll put that off as long as possible.
Tell me what you think! I plan to make mood boards for the rest of my 800,000 word heptalogy tonight and then I’ll be basically done—with this out of the way, the books should write themselves
