Is my AK ruined?
My friend tried to remove the gas tube on my AK without taking the bolt carrier out. He ended up using an Allen key as leverage between the gas tube and the barrel to pry the gas tube up, only to realize the bolt carrier was still in place. He bent the Allen key doing this… Now I’m worried there might be some damage to the barrel or how it’s seated, and I’m also concerned about the gas tube. How would I check if the barrel is damaged, misaligned/bent, out of place, etc.? Bolt carrier now catches on the way back into battery on a slow rack of the charging handle. Could the actual bolt carrier and piston be damaged too? Wouldn’t that have bent the piston beyond tolerance? This is a Meridian Defense 101 (I just got it, so I’m pissed)
I don’t think the handguard rail and the dustcover rail are level with one another, but I have OCD and this one still fux.
