Thinking about coming back to Petco 😭

So I worked at Petco for about 2 years in 2023-2024. I worked as both a merchandising and animal operations manager. I ended up leaving for a variety of different things, but wanted to get out of retail so I left in search of a better job. Well it didn’t worked out as a hoped because I am currently still stuck in retail. I currently work as a Store Manager for a small scale retail store, it if very demanding and stressful at times. My old manager reached out from Petco about an open key holder position. I never thought I would go back to Petco, but I’m highly considering it. I was quoted a rough estimate for the pay rate, and it would be like $2 more than I’m making currently. I would also be able to get partner discounts again.
My only concern is I know Petco went through huge changes since I left. The store I worked at doesn’t even have animals anymore. They just have fish. So it would definitely be different from when I worked there previously. A lot of the new changes I don’t agree with so I’m a little on the fence. So I just want to see what everyone’s opinion is about the new changes the company made before I make a decision.
