Question about use of the Rosary

Hi everybody! I’m an Anglican Christian but I have deep love and respect for both Orthodox Christianity and Catholicism- and when you love something, you tend to be curious and wish to learn more about it.

I’ve heard of Catholics using both Orthodox prayer ropes and the “Anglican Rosary” as opposed to the Dominican Rosary as a prayer tool. I’m curious, do Orthodox Christians ever use the Dominican/Catholic Rosary in prayer? Is this forbidden? If this happens, is it common? Forgive me if this is too obvious, I know much less about Orthodox practices than those of the RCC.

Thanks for the help. God bless you all, I pray that ecumenical efforts can continue within the larger Christian community, even if we disagree on some doctrine and theology. You are all my beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, and I hope that- even with the crazy stuff happening in the Anglican community right now- many of you can feel the same.

Confirmation update!!!

Hi everyone! I posted yesterday about my confirmation, and I was confirmed this morning at Mass! Thank you all for your prayers and welcoming! I love the Episcopal and broader Anglican community of which I am so blessed to be a part. I pray and hope that this may be a step closer to the Lord and greater love and service of Him in my life.

Also, related, I am discerning priesthood in the Episcopal Church (don’t worry, I’ve been part of the Church for a while, I just didn’t have the opportunity to be confirmed earlier due to special circumstances out of my control- I’m not just rushing into this, haha). I finally got an opportunity to speak with my bishop, who knows about my discernment and said I should get in touch with him in the near future regarding my vocation! Woohoo! AGAIN, please pray for me- I can’t properly discern and go down the path which God has chosen for me, priesthood or not, without the help of my beloved sisters and brothers in Christ.

Again, I am just incredibly grateful and truly blessed to have these opportunities, especially today’s confirmation and the WONDERFUL community I am now more largely a part of. Please keep me in your prayers, I love you all. With hair covered in gel and a forehead covered in oil, I want to give you all a heartfelt thanks for your prayers and love. May God bless you always, and may His boundless love continue to transform us and guide us ever closer to Him.

Getting confirmed tomorrow, please pray for me!!!

I’m a 19 year old guy and, finally, I’m being received fully into the Episcopal Church tomorrow! I love you all, and ask that you please pray for me and that this may be a step closer to God which leads me to greater love and service to the Lord! I also ask that you pray the same for all who are being confirmed, in my parish and elsewhere!

God bless you all!
