Dream Air 90hz Unusable

Welp, after the long wait my Dream Air lighthouse has finally arrived.. AND.. it's not working! Well, 72hz mode is, not 90hz. 90hz is a jittery mess whenever I turn my head. In 72hz mode, tracking is perfect.

The instant message Pimax tech support guy seems to think it is USB related. Had me go out and buy a powered USB-C hub, which did not solve the problem. So yeah, not a great first impression so far! After all troubleshooting steps they said create a ticket. So now presumably I get to deal with the lengthy process of troubleshooting every few days with tech support. Yippee. Here's the last message from support:

"Based upon you saying that there is no jitter in 72hz mode, that would indicate some sort of power delivery or data quality issue, but with the steps you've already taken, they should have resolved themselves, so the issue is possibly with the headset itself, it's firmware, or within Pimax Play coding. I do not know for sure, but I can say there is nothing left to test for standard tech support here."

Anyone had a similar issue or have any ideas to try?

9800X3D

RTX 5090

**Edit** using SBoys3 driver fixed the issue for me. Huge shoutout to SBoys3!!

**Edit 2** Now that I’ve had a few minutes to actually enjoy the headset - holy crap! Best visuals in VR I’ve ever seen. Truly stunning.

I still need to dial in the comfort, using the Studioform mask improves things but I’m just not a fan of the back strap, it puts too much pressure on my forehead by default. I have to mess around a bit and see what works best.

When a star collapses and forms a black hole, what happens to the star? Are the remnants still there hiding in the black hole, or does it just disappear?

Base Station Power Management for Dream Air

Hey guys - for those of you who already have your DA Lighthouse version, what have you been using for base station power management? I’ve never owned a non-SteamVR native lighthouse headset, so not sure what is standard these days.

Are you using an app? Physical power switches? Alexa?

Cheers!

FYI, here is canned message I received from Pimax support regarding SLAM shipping (I was told by customer service I would be getting a personal follow-up regarding my specific order. I guess this is what they meant LOL):

"Thank you so much for your follow-up and patience.

The Dream Air SLAM is currently in production scheduling, and we will be shipping orders gradually in the order of pre-registration. We truly understand your eagerness and sincerely apologize for the extended wait.

At present, the Pimax Dream Air has entered full-scale mass production. The earlier component supply issues have been fully resolved, and production capacity is steadily increasing. After strict quality inspections, the products are being shipped to global warehouses one after another, and the delivery process is accelerating continuously.

For the latest updates on mass production and shipping progress, you are welcome to check our official blog for details:

We are doing everything we can to speed up delivery and get your device to you as soon as possible. Thank you again for your understanding and continued support."

So yeah, it has NOT entered production yet. Do with that info what you will. I think I will be switching to Lighthouse, personally, assuming they can do so without messing up my preorder queue.
