Ex who slept with someone else came back
I need honest opinions because I’m stuck in a loop and can’t decide.
Story:
We were each other’s first love. The relationship lasted about 2 years. From December to March she was rejecting me very harshly. During that period she started seeing another guy (January), they became official in February, and became physically intimate in April. She told me all the details during a 2-hour call.
In March I said “Enough” and walked away. End of March I met another girl (B), dated for ~2 months and broke up in early May.
Shortly after, she came back saying she wants to try again. But ever since learning what happened in April, I’ve been struggling with strong retroactive jealousy and disgust. Some days I think I can get over it, other days I feel like I won’t be able to move past it.
We’re in constant back and forth. I go from “let’s try” to “I can’t do this” and she calls me out on my mixed signals.
Questions:
Has anyone overcome retroactive jealousy in a similar situation?
Is it worth giving this another chance?
