Pochita is the abortion devil.
**Pochita might be the Abortion Devil**
I’ve been thinking about the theory that Pochita might actually represent abortion rather than just being the Chainsaw Devil.
The main connection for me is his ability to **erase things from existence**. When Pochita consumes a Devil, the concept it represents can completely disappear from the world, as if it never existed.
Abortion is, in a metaphorical sense, also about preventing a life from ever coming into existence. You could even interpret it as “erasing” a person before they are born.
So if Pochita represents the fear/concept of abortion, his ability to erase concepts would fit surprisingly well: **he doesn’t just kill something — he prevents it from ever having existed.**
The idea that something like abortion could have “erased” an entire generation of potential people also fits thematically with Pochita erasing entire concepts from reality.
Obviously this is just a theory, and Pochita is officially the Chainsaw Devil, but I think the symbolism is interesting.
