How would I go about smoothing these rough prints and welds + what are some recommended products to fill gaps?
Hi, to give context, I'm trying to make a helmet for my Hunk cosplay in time for Oz Comic Con (first time attending) so my friend is helping me print the pieces. I know nothing about 3D prints and making prop pieces, but I've been doing my research. Also note that my friend isn't an expert on 3D pritning either. So far, I've been soldering the pieces on and trying to fill those gaps with melted PLA.
My biggest issues that I tried to find online but couldn't get answers are:
How to get smooth these rough prints in images 1-2, specifically the cross hatch patterns? They were left behind by the tree supports (which was a huge problem to remove).
What's the best products for filling gaps (specifically links)? I've heard of using bondo alternatives (since I live in Aus) or wood filler, but I've also heard wood filler can vary depnding on the product. Ideally I wanna buy them from Bunnings or Amazon, on a budget.
How do I sand uneven surfaces, e.g small "hills", flat? I try to sand them down, but I feel like I'm sanding unevenly.
