T Rex 3 pro 44mm, shutdown for no reason during hiking

Hi all, I recently upgraded from the T rex Ultra to the T rex 3 pro because i love the T rex line for what it is as a rugged watch

I still love the watch and its regular updates, however there's 2 things that i experienced in a single hike

  1. because the buttons protrude more than the T rex ultra, or say 48mm T rex 3 pro, i have more than on one occasion, accidentally paused a hiking workout while taking off/putting on my backpack, which causes me to lose tracking on certain segments until i realised it and unpaused it. I know this cant really be helped and i just have to be more careful, but it is what it is

  2. the second thing irked me more than it should because I was in the midst of a hike in a rainy tripical rainforest, and was about almost 5 hour in and i realised my watch was suddenly off.... i was initially panicking and wondered if there's some defect and. the rainwater got in and short circuited my watch, so much for it being a rugged watch. Based on my memory, the couldn't have been anything i have done to accidentally turn off the watch.

basically it took me awhile to restart my watch, where it is still about 80 percent charged and I had to re start a new workout, and because the full route of this hike resembled a nice picture, i had wanted to capture the full hike for memory sake, but apparently my watch had other plans.

with all being said, I still love what my T rex 3 pro 44mm bring to the table, with the ruggedness and smartwatch features, but i cant deny that these 2 things has caused me some frustration

wondered if anyone has experienced similar experiences, especially the second one where the watch suddenly turns off mid workout?
