Tech sales vs Investment sales (Wholesaling)
Hi everyone,
I’m currently an internal wholesaler, and at the end of the day the role is essentially sales, with the product being investment solutions.
I’ve been curious about how transferable wholesaling skills are to tech or fintech sales, and whether anyone here has made that transition. If so, what motivated you to switch, and how has your experience compared in terms of compensation, career progression, lifestyle, and overall opportunity?
One thing I’ve noticed in wholesaling is that advancing into external roles often requires being open to relocating, sometimes to territories that may not be ideal geographically. I genuinely enjoy the job and do like sales overall, but I’ve been thinking more about the long-term path and how it compares to tech/fintech sales careers.
Would love to hear from anyone who’s made the move or considered it.
