Random front end sound.... wheel bearing like but not
Newish to me/my son - 2014 REX. Car only has 14k miles - obviously sat a lot. I thought it might be tires, just had new tires put on and the sound persists. I jacked the car up, and I spun the front wheel where the sound is coming from and I DO think I can hear it - but there is ZERO play in the wheel bearing, so I don't think that is it. However the brake pad/caliper area seems noisy. I've tried decent speed and hard braking to try to clear any rust off the brake hardware - but it still persists. It's very much like a thud thud thud sound that's speed dependent. Other info - not only new tires, but I put a set of rear wheels up front when I got new tires and the required 15mm spacers. So all new wheels/tires up front. Leave the wheel bearing or???? I checked the dust shield for racks/debris and nothing there.... Something else I'm missing with this being our first i3?
