Need some advice to manage physical compulsions
Within the past month or so, I've developed a new physical compulsion that involves either tightly tensing/flexing my neck muscles or cracking my neck. I do it repeatedly, and it gets uncomfortable and tiring quickly. It seems to be one of the compulsions that falls under the "just right" theme that I've dealt with pretty much my whole life. Oftentimes it goes on through the entire day, and I'm left tense and miserable by the end of it. This particular compulsion isn't brought about by specific intrusive thoughts, and if I had to guess, correlates to how much stress I'm feeling in the moment.
Does anyone have any advice on how to mitigate or stop compulsions like this? It's so exhausting
