Total loss
I got into an accident on 5/3/26 I have Geico. I was driving had the green light another driver wasn’t paying attention and drove right into me long story short Geico declared the car a total loss. I only went through my own insurance because at the time the driver who works for dominos and was delivering at the time couldn’t provide his insurance then. It wasn’t until today that I got ahold of his insurance because I have kids and wanted a quicker payout I went through my insurance they trying to give only 9,412 because they have to minus my collision deductible. I don’t feel I should have to pay for an accident I didn’t do I felt I had no choice to go with my insurance in fear the other driver didn’t. I haven’t signed off on anything yet I just got the settlement today I told Geico I have the info on the other driver that if I can do the claim with them they said yes my question would be do you think I’ll recieved the same as what Geico is trying to give me? It was suppose to be 9, 890 but they minus the deductible and state and law fees. The other driver has progressive. Geico said if I want to go with progressive then I have to sign a release form for them to take the vehicle but I’m wondering would it be worth it I’m a female so I really just trying to get an honest opinion I don’t know much never got into an accident
