Progressive Trainers and Coaches need to form a Union

First off, let me start by saying that what has happened is very unfortunate and I wish this wasn't happening to any Coach or Trainer. Both groups are very hard working and passionate, and deserve better. Which is why I am suggesting a union.

Since the beginning of this year, there has been a lot of uncertainty in both departments with goalposts on how transitions would work being moved and changes to who will be affected. Business need is one thing, slowly getting multiple departments and being blindsided is another. The working conditions are not healthy for anyone, especially for a company that prides itself on its workplace standards.

My goal for this is for folks who were affected and folks who are having to work with the unknown constantly lingering around them to have better protection. A safety net for the continued "unforseen circumstances". I hope we can have a productive conversation here, gauge interest, and hopefully move on to next steps.

Disclaimer: Nobody should be giving personal information. If enough people show interest, we'll move from there. I want to make sure that employees are protected. That said, if your account is associated with any irl information, I suggest using an alternative account.

Edit: Trainers and Coaches are not the only ones needed to unionize. That said, my understanding is that the more folks wanting to unionize the better. Please be careful discussing unions at work. There are laws protecting you, but given the state of the country right now, I can not comfortably say you'll be ok. I am trying to be as careful as possible with this to help as many as possible.

Career form help

I’m currently in a situation where, during training, we were basically advised to select whatever sounded interesting on the career form. At the time, I didn’t realize that selection could later be used to permanently move me into a different role. Now they are using that older form selection to move me into a dept which is not something I want to do Which is why I would not have intentionally selected that path had everything been explained clearly from the beginning.

My supervisor explained that the decision is being made based on “business needs,” but I’m struggling to understand how that is being applied fairly. I have less than a year with the company, while there are employees on my team who have been in the same position for 10+ years and are not being moved.

I’m also not in Services, and in the department I’m currently in, we are not being trained to handle two positions at the same time, which makes the decision even more confusing to me.

I understand business needs play a role, but it’s frustrating that an older form selection is being used when it was completed under misinformation. I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar before and if speaking with HR helped clarify or resolve the situation.

Will Progressive claims adjuster pursue HelloFresh for hit-and-run?

Hi folks,

Yesterday my parked car was hit by a HelloFresh delivery vehicle, causing damage to my front bumper and front-right headlight (2021 Toyota Corolla).

Evidence: I have video evidence (ring doorbell) of the van hitting my car, witness testimony, and sufficient information about my neighbor's HelloFresh delivery to identify which delivery vehicle it would have been. I don't have the vehicle's plate number. A police officer arrived on scene after the incident, viewed all of that evidence, and filed a police report.

Contacting HelloFresh: I contacted HelloFresh to file a complaint, and ask them to cover this with their insurance. However, I am still waiting on them to respond and I am concerned that they will continue stonewalling me. I asked them multiple times for an email acknowledging receipt of my complaint, and for the email address of their legal department and they said they could not provide it.

Ideal outcome: My ideal outcome in all of this is to avoid being out-of-pocket (deductible) for it, and to avoid having this impact my future insurance rates. I don't mind paying my deductible now if I will eventually be refunded.

Question: If I submit my claim to Progressive - will their adjusters be able to pursue HelloFresh so that they can have the damages completely covered by them, including refunding me my insurance deposit, and discounting this from my claims history? Or is there a risk that Progressive just doesn't bother pursuing HelloFresh hard enough, and I am stuck paying this?

Any advice on the best course of action appreciated!

Thanks!

Is it normal to not be able to get in contact with your claims adjuster?

I've been trying to get in contact with my claims adjuster for over 48 hours via text, phone call, and email; all I've gotten back is silence. I reached out to their supervisor via same methods, no answer back.

Is this normal? Should I stop trying to contact them directly and just call the 1-800 number with my questions? I feel bad for bothering these folks when someone is already assigned to my claim.

ETA: thanks for the responses. Just to clarify, I'm not expecting the CA to drop everything to cater to my needs; I understand that, much like most folks, they're over-worked and doing what they can. But 48 hrs seemed like an excessive wait to me, seems like the responses are confirming that.

Claims Nightmare

I was hit by a drunk driver on April 19 while my car was parked on the street overnight in Southern California. She also hit another vehicle and a street sign (city property). Fortunately, she has insurance (Geico), but since she damaged so much property, her insurance does not cover all of the damage to all three items.

Before I found out Geico couldn't cover the cost, my car was assessed by Geico, deeming it a total loss and I was given a settlement amount of approximately $21,300. There was a miscommunication and I did not find out that they could not pay out the settlement until about a week after they gave me the the settlement number. During this time, I bought a new car, since I have a child and cannot get to work without a car. I put down $7k on the car, feeling comfortable with that, as I owed $16k on my totaled car, which would only leave me paying a little less than $2k out of my own pocket ($21,300 - $16,000 = $5300 - I was assuming I would be getting a check for $5300 for after my loan was paid off).

Now, I am being forced to go through Progressive, my insurance company, for the settlement. I have read horror stories about Progressive severely undercompensating people for their cars, but I feel like I have a leg to stand on, as Geico had already offered a $21,300 settlement. Progressive wouldn't honor that number, took possession of my car, and did their own inspection. I am waiting to hear this week what they come back with.

I have pretty much sworn off the $7k, which is a huge bummer, it was pretty much all of my savings. I know I acted quickly and it is my own fault I did not wait to have the check in my hands before I purchased a new car, but I also felt like I had no choice. Is there anything I can do to get Progressive even remotely close to the number Geico gave me? I know I can enter into settlement negotiations, but it has already been a month and I am getting to the point I will have to make 2 car payments. I just have a gut feeling Progressive may only offer around $16k, which feels unacceptable knowing another insurance agency offered so much more. Any advice is appreciated!

Or

Has anyone had an offer with Progressive (or another company) get held up over a background check discrepancy and still been okay?

I accepted an offer and almost everything on my background report came back verified. Criminal checks came back clear, education was verified, and my employment history was verified too.

The issue is with an older Kelly Services job. Kelly actually verified that I worked there, but HireRight found a discrepancy because the dates on an older version of my resume were incorrect. The employment itself was real, but I accidentally uploaded an earlier resume version and later updated it with the correct information.

I already explained the situation to the background team and clarified that I worked through Kelly Services on assignment with Ruffalo Noel Levitz, but now I’m stressed because they mentioned discrepancies can affect candidacy.

Has anyone had a verified job with date discrepancies or resume issues during a background check and still had everything work out? What ended up happening?

Help!

My car was damaged by a drunk driver last week. The automated claims process appears to be broken, and Progressive keeps texting me a broken link. I can't afford a rental, or even to tow my car. I haven't had a way to get to work all week. I'm seeing horrible things about Progressive customer service, and I'm worried I'll lose my job, and won't be able to pay for the car, which I've had for only two months. Any advice?

Thoughts on the new Indicators?

Trying to keep an open mind, but I’m curious how others are interpreting the changes. To me it feels like there’s a stronger focus on tracking/performance visibility lately. Interested to hear everyone’s take.

CRM Trainers & Coaches.

How are we feeling after today's TownHall Meeting led by Jamie Elwell??

I have had several of my teammates who have already gotten their 1:1 with HR/Leadership. If you have had yours too, what choice did you pick and why?

Recruiter call after being hired?

I was hired on a couple of weeks ago and I got a call from Jennifer Jeffries, a recruiter, last week. I was a dumb dumb and instead of hitting the speaker, accidentally deleted the message. I've called twice and left messages, but haven't gotten a return call. Does anyone know what it could be about?

Claims Adjuster Trainee Video Interview Advice?

I recently passed the assessment for the Progressive Claims Adjuster Trainee role and was invited to complete the video interview.

I’m a little nervous since it’s recorded and not live, so I’d appreciate any advice from people who have gone through this process.

What types of questions should I expect? Any tips for doing well or standing out?

Not looking for exact answers — just general insight on how to prepare and what Progressive looks for.

Feel free to comment or DM me. Thanks in advance!

Timecard Closing Early - CRM

Hey y'all so just as a reminder to anyone who doesn't know yet, timecard closes early for Memorial Day. But quick question, if you need to update your timecard for Thursday-Saturday after it closes, will you end up on the TMR report?

Some background if you're interested because I like to ramble lol: so I had an undocumented discussion with my supervisor about a month or two ago about a timecard issue, and I just want to make sure I am straight here because I just got off an actual documented discussion for attendance and I want to keep myself clean so I can put in internal applications. Like they will know right, that if I end up on a TMR report it was because payroll closed early and either I took Green Alert or had a late call or whatever the case may be but payroll was already closed.

So we are doing all of the work now?

Here’s a calmer version:

Last Tuesday, my grandson was hit by a driver insured by Progressive. As far as I understand, the vehicle owner did not file a claim, so I called Progressive on Thursday to check the status and found out that nothing had been started yet.

Since then, I received a text from Progressive asking me to complete several steps through their app, including drawing diagrams, taking photos, and answering questions. Some of the questions also seem to be the same ones they are asking my grandson.

I just want to understand whether this is Progressive’s normal claim procedure. Also, who determines whether the car is totaled — Progressive, an adjuster, or us?

Thank you for your help.

Data analytics

Has anybody taken the Progressive Analyst Boot Camp? If so, how was the process? How often to they advertise for that program? I'm pretty interested in making a change. I'm currently employed with Progressive as a CP in claims.

CGT in onboarding submitted 2 weeks notice

I have come to the conclusion that the stress and pace of the claims role is not conducive to my lifestyle. I am just past halfway in the onboarding process (week 7ish?) and not enjoying it.

If I submit my two weeks notice will they let me go immediately? Or will they request I fulfill the two week obligation?

Any input is appreciated.

CL Claims Trainee

I’m in CRM and interested in going to CL. There’s a trainee position posted but it says CGA experience is preferred. Is it possible to switch from Services to CL claims without any claims experience?
