Hello everyone, I currently have an 18 month old but have started looking at preschools and our local public school. I am now very concerned about how all local public schools are giving kindergartners chromebooks for some reason. Children need to use pencils and pens and improve their fine motor skills. A kindergartner has no practical use for a computer or tablet.
This has caused me n my husband to reach out to our local progressive private school that ensures not technology use until middle school which is way more appropriate developmentally and practically as no kindergartner is doing a research project.
This certainly contributes to our increasing literacy crisis.
How are other parents dealing with this?
