When I (47F) met my ex (52M) 3 years ago, I had ventured on the dating app . I was then 44 and he was 49. The only reason we matched was because I had lowered my age by 4 years . He had 40 as his upper age limit. He admitted that if we had met in the wild he would still have been attracted to me without knowing my actual age.

I understand that it is wrong to lie and I am not planning on debating the lying about the age bit. I always post recent pictures so I do look the way I am and I usually tell the people who I match with my actual age once we match so there is no misunderstanding if the number bothers them.

As a 40 year old on the dating app, I remembered feeling like there were a good number of potential matches.

Fast forward to current day. I decided to just put my actual age and there were very few matches and not many potential matches.

I think the main reason are men would probably have 40 or 45 as their upper age limit. Would that be your experience ?
