Whirlpool Dryer: Replacing Motor 695075 with 279827
Guys, I did a quick search here, didn't see much.
I'm replacing a 695075 motor in a 1984 Whirlpool dryer with an aftermarket 279827. The new motor takes what appears to be somewhat of a standard wiring harness (on newer models), and has some 1/8" wide terminals if not using that harness. The old motor has 1/4 inch terminals. What does everyone do here, just crimp on new connectors as needed? The motor didn't come with any adapter or anything. I'll probably be going over to Home Depot tomorrow to look for smaller connectors that will work. Seems Amazon didn't have Flag style connectors in 1/8" width. I get that the terminals are numbered and I can just match the numbers, I just don't want anything shaking loose in a year or two (or week or two).
I guess I'm surprised they don't just sell a harness to convert this. Was considering buying a harness from a used dryer from ebay.
Your advise is appreciated.
