Help with choosing a Wireless Controller (for someone with extreme choice paralysis)
I need help in choosing a wireless controller. I will use it with a Windows/Linux PC (with a wireless dongle if available) %99 of the time. I don't own any consoles, so console and mobile compatibility aren't important at all.
I also don't play any competitive games and so I will mostly use it with single player games and emulation.
I live in Turkey, so prices of different controllers vary quite a lot. My budget is around 110$ (99% chance I wont go over it) over here but the controllers might cost quite a lot more (or less!) than their price globally, so just recommend anything that fits.
Here are the things that are really important to me in a controller, listed in order of importance:
- Durability/Build Quality
I'm looking for something that I wont need to replace for multiple years and I don't want to have to buy replacement parts (because they probably won't be available in my country and you can't import anything in here). Controllers/brands with known/chronic problems and QA issues are definitely out of the question.
- Face Buttons
The feel and quality of the face buttons are extremely important to me. They shouldn't be wobbly or made with soft materials. I am looking for something that has easy to press and responsive buttons which don't require a lot of pressure to press (this last one in particular is very important).
- Shoulders and Triggers
The shoulder buttons and the triggers should give a clear response when pressed.
- Sticks
The sticks should just be good, durable and easy to use. As long as I don't have to replace them for multiple years, its fine.
I can't compare with any known controllers because I haven't used any (yes, not even a standard Xbox controller or a PS4/PS5 controller for more than 2 times) but here are the prices in Turkey for some popular controllers.
