Jumping from Permanent Position with MAG to private sector Job with Lawyer
So I have been with MAG for 6 years, I hate my job and my employer keeps trying to expand my scope and my team already doesn't have the time/resources to meet our existing workload. We have chronic staffing issues and my job has destroyed my health and well being. A local lawyer who is very reputable is hiring for admin and I want to apply, but it would mean a pay cut and loosing pension. Anyone leave the public sector for private and end up doing better? Or am I taking a massive risk? I am not paid enough for the scope of work that is expected and I have had enough. We are loosing staff all the time and I have been in a perpetual state of burnout and fatigue since I started. I have been applying for other positions in OPS with no luck and our front line union representation is non existent. I only have a college level education so I am worried there may be a correlation to why I'm not getting offers for other positions in the OPS. Any advice or feedback is appreciated.
