I'm lazy at shiny hunting for now so I grinded and grinded for 500 BP, I finally got it! (Might give tips later)

As you can see here my silvally (formerly type:null) evolved without holding a soothe bell.

But I don't have any proof that it evolved without it holding a soothe bell and if you look at the friendship status it wasn't full yet.

I think you just need to battle with your type:null and I used a luxury ball so it can be friendly more.

And the trainers I recommend battling so you can gather friendship is the dark type trainer in the trainer house in dresco town and the breeder outside the pokemon daycare.

Evolving type:null only took me less than an hour so maybe it can work for y'all too.

And also I recommend giving your type:null a nickname since I heard it actually helps raise friendship progress (I think)

So in conclusion the alternatives I used to evolve my type:null is:

*Give it a nickname

* Put it in a luxury ball (by buying one in the pokemon league and going inside dehara city's pokemon center and talking to the blonde girl there so she can put your pokemon in a luxury ball)

* Challenge trainers to level up type:null and raise friendship
