How is my max EV/IV Garchomp getting outspeed by the seventh gym's Seismitoad and Kingdra?

I'm currently trying to beat the seventh gym Tessy in and I couldn't outspeed her Pokémon because of permanent rain and Swift Swim, and my teams are absolutely nothing if they can't outspeed the opposing team, so I bred a Ribombee with Sticky Web, and I thought I could finally outspeed them, but I still couldn't!

I did the calculations and there's actually no way my Garchomp (not mega evolved btw), because its speed is lowered) is being outsped! I definitely have done the calculations wrong because I AM being outsped!

Also, my perfect IV/EV Timid Serperior is being outspeed by Kingdra. I assume Seismitoad can't outspeed my Serperior though because it switches out when I switch Serperior in.

TYIA!

EDIT: Forgot to add that I'm playing in Expert mode.

Level lock multiplayer battles?

Friends and I have been playing this on our emulators together and battling as we progress using link through wifi and using the level caps to be even, but as we start to delve into the post game and past the level cap, I really miss an option to level every mon to 50 like you can do in the battle frontier. Is this possible in multiplayer somehow?

Shiny gift Pokemon.

I just got dehara city and got one of the gen iv Pokemon and it turned out to be shiny on first roll. Is it a guaranteed shiny. When I got the gen V on it wasn’t shiny so I’m kinda confused. Also last night I got a shiny Zygarde 10% is that also lucky or guaranteed. I don’t have any cheats enabled either

My save rolled back 7 hours on my Anbernic RG45XX. Why? Is there any way to recover it?

I've been playing all day on my new Anbernic RG45XX, and just booted it up after eating to see that about 7 hours of progress has been deleted from my save file.

What has happened any why?

I launch the game through RGA, but a quick search has shown me that the game only actually saves if you exit it correctly, and not if you save in-game.

Is this true? There's no way I'm picking it back up if I have to replay all the progress I lost. Is there no way around this? Is my save hidden somewhere?

Unbound Companion app

based off u/hosua's iv peeker script :)

not quite done yet and want to add a little more to it but the bones work! will probably put on github once it's a little more fleshed out

all the true work was by hosua, those scripts and the notes in their repo are fantastic

less goooooo!!!!

First time playing the game in general! Super fun, big learning curve for me with lots of things from ev's to ivs which i never messed with until i started this, to just "getting good" with strategies that the main games didnt require. Taking the time to plan and build teams and mons for certain fights, ahhhh so much fun! Tried to mainly use mons i hadnt ever used before so that probably didnt help when i got stuck in a few fights lol. besides the E4 fights, the zapdos fight with marlon atop thundercap mt, the giratina fight itself, and then the several fights atop crystal peak were some of the hardest for me. was about to give up and lower the difficutly a few times but stuck with it, so glad i did!!

Big bertha was by far the goat for me, watrballon put in work a lot too, was going to try and will o wisp from dusclops and delete things with gengar but that didnt work out 90% of time hah. Mamoswine killed it in there. but honestly the protect tm was the real goat lol. Time to finish working on the pokedex and work on some more missions, currently at 36 finished.

Can't beat Blissey dynamax

Trying to complete And Den There Were None and I'm at a complete loss on how to beat Dynamaxed Blissey in one of the wells. It just keeps healing and minimizing and has become impossible to beat in 10 turns! Any advice would be much appreciated!

Found while doing the Magikarp mission lol

So I was fishing Magikarp to fill a box for the mission to get the shiny 6IV one as the reward and found myself a shiny one beforehand. His IVs suck but I thought it was a funny coincidence lol

You are my only.

Honestly I didn’t expect this to work but it did. Saw this build on the Pokémon Database and wow. 252 SPD, 240 HP, 12 ATK Careful nature.

Alternated between Dragon Tail for Marlon/Penny, Sludge Wave for Arabella and Coil for Moleman. Lots of X items, Full Restores and Max Elixers.

is this doomed to fail at e4 because i cant beat even a single one of em.

drapion- super luck
merman- torrent
sumo- guts and i gave him flame ord
petal-cant get confused, forgot the name of ability. and i gave her wide lens or something to improve accuracy
roxx
and superman with dragon fang and intimidate. i have two boxes of differnet pokemon i can shift but they would be weak i think as i caught em at around 50 lvl so their stats are not as high as they should be. idk i dont know too much about ev and iv.

also level is difficult

I may have been in over my head

I haven't played a pokemon game in a while but I decided to maybe try a nuzlocke on the Difficult difficulty because surely it couldn't be that bad, I had to abandon the nuzlocke rules after the mega houndoom fight because that completely caught me off guard and killed my team, and now I don't even know if I'll be able to beat mel normally at all, I went back to catch a beedrill and gengar so I'll see if that helps but are people actually able to nuzlocke this game on difficult difficulty? What about the higher ones

Multiple NG+ questions

Had too many things I was wondering and AI makes googling so much more of a pain, plus some stuff I just need opinions. I’m going for my black card before starting my first NG+, but I really don’t see myself sticking with it. So, short of getting your black card, and fully upgraded scanner, what are essentials to do before starting NG+? Also I’m not super competitive with it, just having fun so I’m not really worried about carrying over perfect IV dittos. So number 1, what key items do I need to make sure to have?

I know it’s not the cool thing, but I want to bring back at least 4 post game mons so I can use them the whole playthrough. #2, since you start at level 10, are you able to teach them moves earlier with the updated stat scanner since they have a bunch they “learn” at level 1 in unbound specifically? If not, what would be the best legendaries from earlier gens to start at lvl 10. I’m definitely keeping perfect IV mewtwo for coverage with TM’s.

#3- does pokerus transfer to NG+ if the mon has it?

#4- If I use a gold bottle cap on a Mon, does it start NG+ at lvl 10 with perfect IV’s?

#5- I’m probably going to bring a lucky egg(but maybe I don’t need to if I can keep pokerus?), what are the big items to bring with? I’ve hoarded so many that it takes forever to even look through what all I have at this point.

I know I’m forgetting some stuff I meant to ask but it’ll come back and I’ll ask then lol appreciate any help and opinions!

Weavile was my unexpected GOAT

I didn’t use Weavile much during most of the game but needed a fast, ice Pokémon for the elite four. Holding focus sash and using hone claws allowed me to get through a lot of the elite four using triple axel or beat up.

u/autumnwindeeznuts — 3 days ago

obligatory i did it post

much fun. got to mostly just build with mons i like which was great.

tailwind noivern, fake out salazzle saved me during a lot of the double battles on e4 / champ.

had fun, might replay at some point. don't think i'll do expert again unless i take someone's save and ng+ on it - i really liked the difficulty on the battles of expert (and probably would like insane as well), but i think this game is a little too grindy for my taste on these difficulties when they require pretty optimized teambuilding

Best trick room user for Insane Elite four?

As far as I know, there are only three trick room users available before elite four: Bronzong, Porygon-Z, and Hoopa.

Bronzong: all around great support and great defensive typing with levitate, but essentially useless as an attacker, even for Arabella. It’s bulkiness can be a detriment because it can’t set up trick room and die for tempo

Hoopa: massive ball of stats with some support moves, but pretty much no coverage which is tough with a ghost and fairy elite 4. Zen headbutt while praying for flinches is useful too.

Porygon-Z: great attacker and great coverage while lacking vulnerability because of normal type, just doesnt hit as hard as hoopa. Can suicide bomb something with focus sash+trick room and then hyper beam.

what do you think? I have a belly drum az trick room team im using and im quite close to winning, just need slight adjustments.

My winning team.

I don't even believe in them, but they did it. Great, I guess
