Offering 6IV Charmanders for Shinies!

I‘ve been breeding Charmanders to get a shiny, and so far I’ve encountered 11 perfect IV Charmanders. I’m trying to get a shiny living Dex, so if you have a shiny that you want to exchange, let me know! I do already have all the guaranteed shinies, like Xatu, Elekid, Magikarp, etc. If you have a shiny that can only come from Breeding (like Chingling or other baby Pokémon) then I can give you more.

Pokemon Unbound on SuperFW 0.20 for GBA RTC fix?

I'm not using the garbage SD card that shipped with the cartridge, and I tried to use SuperFW's web patcher to generate a fix to no avail. The game is playable, but it is stuck at 2000/01/01 at 10 AM, which isn't optimal for a game that uses RTC mechanics. Any ideas?

Feel like I should get a grass type

I just got to route 5 after the whole volcano thing and realised this team struggles against water.

Playing this on expert for the first time. I saw that you get a snivy on route 5 but idk how good that would be without contrary, and I heard that dream mist is post game I think?

If I did get a grass type who would I replace? Looking at spheal tbh.

I also saw that walrein can't learn freeze dry so it's not like I can just use that instead of a grass type.

For the sickos in here that have successfully nuzlocked Umbound..

Just started my first attempt at nuzlocking (not hardcore) the game on Difficult, looking for advice from those who have successfully done so.

What encounters were huge contributors to your run?
What battles caused you the most trouble?
How many attempts did it take you?
Any tips in general?

Team help

Difficult Difficulty

Im having trouble getting through the seventh gym. In the screenshot are pokemon Im currently training up for / willing to use. I feel like Im lacking something here (was initially thinking talonflame but I dont want to bench my crobat and then have double electric/rock weakness. The team in the current party is just the team Im currently training up, not my set team. Fairy seems to be a pain point.

Also, I think I can only get one other dream mist before the endgame via that docks quest. I used the free one on garchomp before I realized that it would be better used on other mons. So id have to pick between iron fist infernape/ liquid voice primarina if I went with them. Sableye already has prankster.

Move sets:

Crobat: cross poison, acrobatics (no item), haze, leech fang

Sableye: will o wisp, quash, fake out, shadow claw

Ferrothorn: protect, stealth rock, power whip, toxic (will get leech seed via egg move if I can from the next swarm, likely replacing stealth rock)

Infernape (NOT iron fist unfortunately): drain punch, thunder punch, close combat, fire punch

Primarina: moonblast, hydro pump, sparkle aria, relic song (will probably teach ice beam here until I decide on if Im going for liquid voice HA)

Scrafty (shed skin ability): knock off, dragon dance, rest, hi jump kick (has wide lens item)

Walrein: surf, body slam, ice beam, blizzard

Garchomp: earthquake, rock slide, crunch, dragon claw. Will add swords dance when I can

Ampharos: power gem/signal beam, discharge, cotton guard, light screen

Hariyama: force palm, fake out, knock off, ice punch

Emboar: flamethrower, head smash, flame charge, low sweep

Togetic: not really trained up. Its stats are meh, and it has hustle. Not sure if that turns to serene grace on its own when it evolves. But if it needs its HA, probably wont be able to use it unfortunately since dream mist is needed elsewhere, unless somehow its the superior choice

My biggest issue is with fairy. I cant really hit it hard despite resisting it with a few of my mons. Crobat is the only one that has a poison move. I know scrafty can get poison jab but it gets one shotted by any fairy move, which seem to be everywhere. So ideally it wouldn't even be on the field if fairy is in play anyway

How did the noivern get hit by earthquake?

Just discovered this game a few days ago, downloaded it, and going to start it after work. I saw post on here earlier about a noivern getting hit by earthquake and from what little I could gather from the comments at the time it seemed like it was an intentional part of the game. Saved the post to go back at a later time (now) for a clearer answer, but I think it was deleted. Can anyone explain what was happening?

Secondary question, starter recommendations. All three of them look fun and I can’t decide.

Gym 4's AI is bonkers, but I beat it on Insanity with some slight changes.

This gym leader swapped strategies every time I went up against them when I was scouting it, meaning they were really hard to read. What I learned from that however, was that Zygarde could always beat his Porygon-Z, if he had a Sitrus Berry, & could tank hits from most of their Pokémon. So, it stayed. Steelix, while useless offensively, was also able to tank hits from most of their Pokémon, so it to stayer. Genger was only really effective if their Pokémon had a status ailment due Hex, as it doesn't learn a strong special ghost type attack until level 48, but Hex did do decent damage to Type Null, even if it wasn't affected by a status, so it stayed. Mega Kangaskhan was always difficult with my previous team, because it could not only hit twice but out speed most of my Pokémon, while also being pretty tanky. So, some of my team had to go, and I only kept Zygarde, Steelix, & Genger. Luckily, I excel with Ghost & Dark type Pokémon had an idea of how to beat this gym leader. So, I caught a Cubone, Carvanha, & Mischievous & then leveled them up to the level cap so they could join the fight

All IV & EV trained.

Zygarde - 252 in Health & Attack.

Steelix - 252 in Defense & Health.

Sharpedo - 252 in Attack & Speed.

Marowak - 252 in Attack & Health.

Genger - 252 in Special Attack & Speed.

Mismagius - 252 in Special Attack & Speed.

I started with Zygarde because he starts with Porygon-Z, but he instantly switched into Snorlax, but I planned my first move incase of the switch, and used Glare. Paralyzing Snorlax. I then switched into Gengar & it took 1 Power Up Punch before hitting a Hex & did some decent damage but didn't eliminate Snorlax, like I hoped, so I went for a 2nd, but they switched into Type Null, who again took decent damage, but survived, and then took out Gengar with a Return. I then threw out Mismagius, who out sped Type Null, & was able to take it out with a Geist Beam, thanks to Genger weakening it. They then threw out Swellow, so I threw out Steelix. This Swellow is faster than anything on my team, and its Quick Attack can eliminate all of my ghost Pokémon instantly, even though for some reason starts off burnt, so its physical attacks should've be nurfed. All I knew was that I needed to let it take some damage from being burnt, so I could take it out with Mismagius. Thus Steelix, who tanked a Quick Attack, but fainted to a Boomburst. Zygarde took 2 hits, but was then taken out, as well. I then thew out Mismagius, who would've died, if not for a Focus Band that I attached to it, meaning Geist Beam hit, and eliminated Swellow. They then threw out his Kangaskhan, so I threw out Sharpedo. Kangaskhan mega evolved and hit Fake Out, which hits twice in its mega form. Sharpedo lived, and Kangaskhan took damage from Sharpedo's Rough Skin ability & again from the Rocky Helmet I had attached to it, twice, once for each hit. I then used Aqua Jet for some quick damage & then Kangaskhan used Facade, eliminating my Sharpedo, but also itself, again due to the damage it received from the Rough Skin ability & the Rocky Helmet. I then threw out Mismagius, who was able to out speed Porygon-Z & hit a Geist Beam. Leaving Snorlax, who tanked a Giest Beam, and took Mismagius out. Unfortunately for Snorlax though, it was still paralyzed from ealier & now too weak to survive a Ghost Bone from Marowak with a Thick Club attached, thanks to Mismagius, meaning Marowak was the sole survivor and won me the 4th badge.

My team not learning new moves

My Pokemon has stopped learning new move sets. It’s not that I’ve cancelled them learning new moves. Even Metagross being at level 83 but the moves are pathetic. I visited move tutor but it has all the generic moves. Is it normal or am I missing something?

Am I supposed to do anything here?

Guys what am I supposed to do here?? It looks weird and suspicious. Plus all that puzzles just for a megastone wasn’t worth I think.

Am I playing expert difficulty wrong?

Guys I completed e4 on expert difficulty but I used the quicksaves and loading multiple battle scenarios which I felt it’s kinda cheating but it’s the only way I could win fights.. but now I’m asking myself if it’s not worthy of actually completing expert.. i feel like the real way would be no going back on the decision I make during fights and let it play out and learn from it but then that would take way longer.. I’m confused.. what do you guys think?
