California Visitation/ custody
I live in California, In 2016 I was giving sole physical custody of my 2 kids and the dad was given professionally supervised visits. He never once did a supervised visit and then shortly after went to prison. He spent almost 8 years in prison. So it’s been 10 years that my kids haven’t seen their dad. He is now trying to see them and they are now 14 & 16. They have built their lives have stability, schedules, consistency and don’t want to have a relationship with him. They aren’t mad, or resentful they just don’t know him and feel their lives are full and not missing anything.
He’s been trying to threaten me with taking me to court or just showing up at my house to see them, but just because 10 years have passed doesn’t mean there wasn’t a court order for custody and visitations out in place.
When the original order was made circumstances were different they were young, he was around but that’s not the case anymore. Even after the order was made he just dropped off the face of the earth.
What should I do?
I’ve never received any sort of child support over the past 10 years.
