Not sure if its me or my co-worker
So I’m in my late 20s, working an office job (can’t name the company for obvious reasons), and I have this co-worker who sits next to me. We’ve been working together on the same project for about a year now along with a few other people. It’s the first project we’ve worked on together.
When we first met, everything was fine. We talked, got to know each other a bit, both work-related stuff and personal life. For a while, things were completely normal.
But recently, this co-worker has become really distant with me specifically. I didn’t notice it at first, but little things kept happening over time. Whenever I try to talk to them, they’ll respond with just a few words, barely any interest, or sometimes just give me the cold shoulder. But the moment another co-worker talks to them, their whole tone changes instantly.
At first, I could tolerate it. But lately it’s become way more obvious. One time I was talking to another co-worker about work, and this person suddenly barged into the conversation and started talking over me, almost like they were trying to cut me out completely. Even the other co-worker noticed it.
I know this might not seem like a huge deal to some people, but I literally sit next to this person every day. Since my desk is by the window, they’re basically the only other person around me most of the time. Personally, I’m not even offended at this point, more confused than anything. Like, if I did something that upset you, just tell me so I can be more considerate. But instead, it feels like this co-worker keeps undermining me and treating me like I’m invisible.
I’m not really sure what to do. I like my job, and I get along well with everyone else there. Just wanted to rant a little. If anyone has advice, I’d appreciate it.
