Hi, I'm in the midst of my first campaign and could use some help with my character build. We're currently level 7. I'm looking for advice on what to do at level 8, and eventually I'd like to add enough fighter levels to get a second attack.

For starters, our usual adventuring party is typical only 4 (3 PCs) -- a Kobold Barbarian, a Human Bard (College of Lore), my character, a Tiefling Arcane Trickster Rogue and our NPC Hafling Fighter-ish companion. I've typically been filling a wildcard/utility player role trying to do a bit of everything - I'm the secondary damage dealer, the lookout, the ranged attacker, the investigator, and co-planner of the group.

Current stats & equipment:
Initiative = +7 (alert feat)
AC = 17 (studded leather and cloack of protection)
Resistances: Fire (Infernal Tiefling heritage) Cold (added to armor)
Immunity: Poison, Poison - Peripat of Protection Against Poison
Str = 10; Dex = 18; Con = 12; Int = 19 (Headband of Intellect); Wis = 14; Char = 16
Proficiencies: Thieve's Tools, Forgery Kit, Acrobatics, Deception, Insight, Investigation (Expertise) Perception (Expertise); Sleight of Hand (Expertise); Stealth (Expertise)

Magic:
Cantrips: Mage Hand Ledgermain; Fire Bolt, Minor Illusion, Thaumaturgy, Toll the Dead
1st Level: Absorb Elements, Disguise Self, Hellish Rebuke, Silent Image
2nd Level: Darkness, Hold Person, Shadow Blade

Our Campaign/Situation:
After a heist gone bad, working with an experienced Thieve's Guild to rob from a wealthy family that seems to be in arms dealing, 2 of our party were made and we now have a formidable bounty hunter on our tail. She seems to have access to scrying magic and has a fabric sample from each of our clothes.

What I was thinking:
Continue taking Rogue levels until 9 when I get an extra sneak attack die.
At level 8 take a feat with a stat increase.
I've been looking at War Caster for the advantage on concentration checks, Skulker for Blindsight and a Dex point, or Sharpshooter to help cut back on the need for Steady Aim. We also play a mix of 2024 and 2014 rules so I may be able to take the something closer to the previous version of Sharpshooter with the damage boost.

All thoughts and discussions on how to continue building my character are appreciated.
