Lupron Protocol After Canceled FET?

I am interested in hearing people’s experiences in regards to a Lupron Protocol for an FET.

My first FET was medicated with estrogen and progesterone, but unfortunately it failed to implant. I was supposed to be doing another FET next week, but I just found out today that it has to be canceled because I apparently ovulated despite the estrogen and despite not ovulating the first FET. I am pretty sad about this because as we all know, every month of waiting feels agonizingly long.

Anyway, my doctor wants to do a Lupron protocol for this next FET to make sure I don’t ovulate. So I was interested in hearing people’s experiences with this?

I want to hear from anyone else who is paying for IVF completely out of pocket while also not working. Please don’t turn this into comments about privilege or “must be nice not to work.”

For context, I was a teacher and had decided to switch to substitute teaching before TTC because I’ve always struggled with anxiety (and depression) and wanted to have less anxiety for when I got pregnant. I had no idea we would end up dealing with infertility (male factor). Over time, my mental health got worse and I’m no longer working.

Our IVF is not funded, so everything is out of pocket. My husband has a decent job and we’ve always been careful with money, so we are managing financially, but it’s still hard knowing this was supposed to be savings for our future. I constantly feel like a failure for not bringing in income while we’re spending so much on fertility treatment.

We also aren’t telling many people about IVF, which makes it even harder when people ask what I’m doing with my life or why I’m not working.

Just wondering if anyone else is in a similar situation.
