Genuinely confused?
So, Group Finder for a dungeon... Random person groups in, sees i am an arcanist (i actually subclass and use my bow a lot too. I do a lot of rping, really). Anyhow, they ask if i am a beamer. Will just type it out exactly.
Them: Hi
Me: Heyo!
Them: Arcanist. Are you a Beamer ??
Them: ?
Me: Have the beam, tentacles, runeblades, why? ((Because I assumed they just wanted the arcanist skills that I have, so I gave them that.))
Them: Ok bye
Then they left? I am really confused. I get that some just use the beam to basically oneshot things, but that is not always the case. I am working on my own build, refusing to look builds up, simply because I want my character to be my own. I am not sure if i am making any sense...

So yeah, I was overthinking the interaction... If it was at the beginning of me learning to play, that attitude of their's would have dampened my spirits and made me go look at maximized builds and such. Since I've been playing for a few months and have gained quite a bit of understanding, though? Gonna let it go under the bridge. My dps is average on a good day and above average on a great day. And I am okay with that. I do not beam my way through the game, as I am also heavily into the RP aspect of it. I am still learning and honestly... it's a game. Life is so bloody screwed up right now, I am not going to let my brain over think someone else's attitude get to me and make me question my playstyle when they didn't even try.
We got through that dungeon, by the way. Quickly. It was fun, i enjoyed the story, the colour palette was gorgeous!
