I love this game. Don't believe anyone who says it's dead.

As title says. Coming from a Skyrim only player, ESO is amazing.

Bought the 2025 premium edition for £41 and there is so so much to explore and do.

If I get 5 years out of this game then that is money well spent.

Newbie advice

Hello, i started playing this game with some of my friends, i’m here to ask for any advices that you could give me, i am playing as a stamina necromancer, from what i heard it is not beginner friendly but i really wanted to try this class, it is my first character and this is the build that i am trying to do ( https://www.skinnycheeks.gg/corpse-exploder-u50#buildbasics ), i am not sure if it is a pvp build or pve, i really didn’t look much into the different builds and first picked the one i found first, i don’t plan on doing pvp yet as i am low level and only play with my friends on weekends, as i said i am looking for any advices, if i should change build or anything, thank you veteran players

Why do most eso activities often feel so unrewarding? And how do you think it is possible to fix this?

i think one of the biggest problem is that there basically no long-term goals for veteran players to accomplish other than housing, fashion to lesser extend, achievements(rarely have interesting rewards) and sets sticker book(which is mostly pretty useless).

My idea would be to shamelessly steal guild war 2 world bosses, legendaries(that would work often as material sinks for not abundant resources) and generally update crafting system and saturate world with unique rewards and crafting materials that you can always sell. dynamic encounters are nice step in this directions but right now it is not enjoyable to do them.

But i guess it is probably already too late so it is just my rant. I just tried gw2(it has horizontal progression too) recently and it makes me sad and i can't unsee how many mmo aspects can be improved in eso(and i love tes lore).

I really hope we are getting a crown sale tomorrow

We fully expected a crown sale during Quakecon, but unfortunately there wasn’t one. I saw post after post about this, and one comment of mine got very upvoted.

I said I believe that maybe we’ll get a crown sale when the Diamond Anniversary crates will release on the 20th. I really hope i’m right! This could earn ZOS a lot of bucks! People have been waiting for these crates a long time.

What is the chest piece style shown here?

I've been looking for some inspiration in terms of outfits for my character, and came across this (it was posted here 2 years ago, but I can't reshare the post, so thought I'd post the image).

I'm wondering what the chest piece is. It looks like the dragon bone style, but I'm not too sure about that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

In regards to tanking...

I am approaching level 50, already near 300 CP, and would like to be a competent tank for vet dungeons and move to trial tanking. I have looked at guides and a few videos, along with also learning fights and mechanics and feel I am getting the gameplay aspects of tanking. This has been easier as I would tank HM trials in the early years of the game but relearning everything since coming back to the game.

My question is this- is Hyperioxes tanking guide sort of the gold standard to shoot for?

I noticed a couple of scribed skills in the build and have yet to do anything with that skill line since returning. I want to be a great tank and offer support to the party and wonder how to do so if those skills are missing. This may just be me getting anxious to be the meat shield and not embracing the grind to perfection though.

Edit: forgot to mention I am a Nord Dragonknight for what it's worth.

Will ESO be archived for offline if it ever shuts down? This game has so much "new" lore in it that you cannot access if it ever goes down.

I've only played a little ESO (just the main story) but everything I've heard about what comes after sounds crazy and like it should've been in the mainline games. The Daedra War, that there's a new 'secret' Daedric Prince, all the new lore for Bretons and Vampires and the other races. I'm going crazy thinking about ALL this being inaccessible one day. It should have private servers or some kind of archive (UESP is great but it doesn't do the same justice of having the source access)

After having my ESO account for over 9 years, i got banned, for talking about elder scrolls lore.

Apparently the filter automatically detected the word "racist." when explaining how the nords, dark elves, and Thalmor were all part of forms of race based cleansing, including Genocide campaigns by the Thalmor. This was all in zone chat explaining it to someone who wanted to learn more about the lore of the game. Has anyone else encountered anything this insane? Its only a 3 day ban, but its still so crazy to me that the censorship is at this level. The email i got said this counts as threatening other players and or zenimax employees.

Anyone else thinks of their characters as a group of friends?

They live in the same house and go on adventures together. Art by me :p

Is imperial city pvp popular?

I’m not a PvPer and Don’t often go to IC because I don’t like risking my currency. But I need to do the IC warlord achievement for mount, and i don’t mind fighting for it, it can be enjoyable. But there doesn’t seem to be many people in the IC at all either on CP or non CP. A few people sure but most on non CP seem to be farming tel var and I try and avoid them because I have a conscience. Is there ever big groups fighting each other like in cyrodiil? Also never seen anyone make a GF listing for pvp zones either

Solstice difficulty?

Has anyone had more trouble with Solstice than any other dlc before? I'm returning to the game after some time and i don't know if i'm just terrible all of a sudden but i can't even do the group event in Calindvale Gardens solo despite having been able to do all others up to this point just fine. And even beyond the difficulty, the mechanics are just not fun and actually aggravating

Same with world bosses, couldn't do the Tidwash Stand one even with my friend and both our companions. I used to run vet hard mode dungeons for fun, got the worm/beast personality and even did some vet trials back in the day. So i'm just genuinely confused why the heat has been turned up so much and i haven't really noticed many people talking about it unless im just late to the party

I legit have 100% map completion for every other region in the game including ones like Craglorn and Cyrodiil, but this may be the first time in the game where I'm unable to because the level of difficulty is so cracked compared to previous expansion. That or they severely nerfed templars? I'm on the easiest overworld difficulty too so i just really don't understand what's going on

Either way, i feel like content like this should be able to be completed on a duo w/ companions at the very least, because you literally cannot find random people to do this stuff with anymore. If the devs intent was to get you to do it in a group setting they've failed miserably for players coming into the dlc late, because anyone who wanted to do it has already done so and has no incentive to go back again...

Hardest world boss to tank?

I'm going to be leading a tank fundamentals for beginner players interested in learning about vet tanking. I'm planning on spending an hour answering questions about gear, resistances, food etc and then take those interested to apply what they learned and see if they can hold a boss for 2 minutes without any assistance - to help them practice sustain and illustrate different things about resistances

Back when I did this before we used vet Sanctum Ophidia and tanked the mantikora.

With the recent difficulty levels it would probably be easiest to go to a world boss and turn the difficulty to master or vestige instead of taking a few people to a trial- So I turn to ask the minds of reddit - which world boss offers enough in the way of mechanics and oomph to be a good test?

PUG trial builds

I want to basically ask what you would recommend for random group finder trial runs. Should I be running it with my solo build or my dedicated DPS build? One lacks the dmg and the other lacks penetration and relies on the group providing breach or something else. I would go with the solo build, but the dmg is less than half of what can be achieved with a DPS build, so would a not fully supported DPS build still perform better than a solo build?
